Animals breath air in and breathe out carbon dioxide.

Carbon dioxide is absorbed by plants and they store carbon.

When animals and plant die their bodies, which contain a lot of carbon, fall onto the ground.

Over many years they are covered by other dead plants and animals.

These remains then decay and become carbon based minerals in the earth.

After millions of years they finally become fossil fuels.

These are burnt by factories cars and homes which releases carbon dioxide into the air.

The carbon dioxide is absorbed again by plants and the cycle continues.
