What is Urban Farming?
The practice of cultivating, processing and distributing food in, or around a village, town or city.
³Urban Farming's mission is to create an abundance of food for people in need by planting gardens on unused land and space while increasing diversity, educating youth, adults and seniors and providing an environmentally sustainable system to uplift communities´

Premised on the paradigm of permaculture  

defined as any system of sustainable agriculture that renews natural resources and enriches local systems. aims to create stable, productive systems that provide for human needs, integrating the land with its inhabitants. 
Elements in the system such as plants nutrient cycle, animals,

and climatic factors are all related to each other.  The output of one of the elements mentioned above becomes the inputs of other elements.  Through this process, work is minimized; ³wastes´ become resources, productivity and yields increase, and environments are restored.

Will Allen and ³Growing Power´

Will Allen is an urban farmer who is transforming the cultivation, production, and delivery of healthy foods to underserved, urban populations  Former NBA player who started ³Growing Power¶, which is an urban agriculture organization headquartered in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.  Its facilities include seven large greenhouses, a kitchen, indoor and outdoor training gardens, aquaculture system and a food distribution facility. Fish, worms, bees, goats, chickens, turkeys, and ducks are also raised there.
