LOCAL HUMAN RIGHTS ADVOCATE ATTENDING WOMEN'S LEADERSHIP CONFERENCE, JOINING NATIONAL BIPARTISAN MOVEMENT Human Rights advocate Genevieve Whitaker has been accepted to attend a leadership training conference hosted by The White House Project and the No Labels organization. From December 12-13 in New York City, Whitaker will serve as a participant of The White House Project No Labels pre-conference and No Labels conference, kickoff/launch event (National Founders Meeting) scheduled for December 13th. The event is a partnership between The White House Project, a national, nonpartisan, not-for-profit organization, 501(c)(3), aims to advance women’s leadership in all communities and sectors, up to the U.S. presidency and No Labels, a new movement to restore America's sense of common purpose by creating a space in politics where excessive partisanship is set aside. Whitaker is joined by local attorney, Natalie Nelson Tang How, who has also been accepted to participate in the Pre-Conference and Launch. Attorney Tang How has a diverse practice specializing in labor and employment law. Pre-conference participants will hear from top experts in their field - including the President of the Grady Health Foundation, Lisa Borders, Founder of the Conrad Foundation, Nancy Conrad, Senate Majority Leader of New Hampshire, Maggie Hassan, CEO of Stanford Management, Rosa Scarcelli, President of Women’s Campaign Forum ,Sam Bennett, Managing Director of Government Relations, Tamera Luzzatto, Founder of No Labels, Nancy Jacobson and The White House Project’s President Marie Wilson. The No Labels preconference training will outline how to mine for stories and communicate your message more effectively. As for the No Labels Kick-off/Launch event, both Whitaker and Tang How join with other Citizen Leaders from around the country and hear from major political leaders such as Mayor Michael Bloomberg, Senator Kirsten Gillibrand, Congressman Bob Inglis, Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa, Congressman Tom Davis, David Brooks, Joe Scarborough, Mika Brzezinski, Senator Joe Lieberman, Senator Evan Bayh, Senator Joe Manchin, David Gergen, Governor Charlie Crist, Lt Governor Abel Maldonado, Congressman Michael Castle, Ellen Freidinas well as other leading politicians and political consultants. Whitaker has already joined the No Labels organization as a Citizen Leader, having initiated efforts to establish the No Labels Virgin Islands Team. Whitaker, is an alumni of The White House Project, as a graduate of the Brooklyn College GO LEAD Program and most recently Whitaker, having been nominated by the Women’s Campaign Forum as a Next Generation Program member, was a participant of the FAIR GAME START Now Summit: Women Leaders for Nuclear Security" held from Oct. 1819 in Washington, D.C. The Fair Game Summit was hosted by The White House Project and Participant Media, an American film and television production company which finances and produces socially relevant films and documentaries. As a participant, Whitaker met former CIA operations officer Valerie Plame, watched an advance screening of "Fair Game," Page 1

a film based on Plame's autobiography, and heard from Obama Administration cabinet members with expertise in nuclear security and defense. Whitaker leads local women’s and youth organizations. Whitaker is the VicePresident of the Business and Professional Women’s Organization of St. Croix (2009 BPW Virgin Islands Young Careerist), St. Croix Unit Leader of the League of Women Voters of the USVI, First Vice-President of the St. Croix Chamber of Commerce Young Professionals Network, and co-founder and President of Virgin Islands Youth Advocacy Coalition, Inc.
