Agapito Flores (born September 28, 1897 in Guiguinto, Bulacan, Philippines) was a Philippine inventor.

He worked as an apprentice in a machine shop and later moved to Tondo, Manila where he trained at a vocational school to become an electrician. It has been reported that Agapito Flores received a French patent for a fluorescent bulb and that the General Electric Company bought Flores¶ patent rights and manufactured and sold his fluorescent bulb (making millions from it). However, some facts may conclude that he did not actually invent the fluorescent bulb.

Because of poverty, he did not finish his high school. He works as an apprentice in a machine shop, and even he has no wealth his ambition gives him hope. He transferred to Tondo, Manila and he takes an Electric Course from a vocational school. After a couple of months, he applied for a job.
