CAPTURED BY THE CREEK

We arrived in the usual manner, Eager to absorb the glory of nature. The wealth of water, weigh a little on our minds, As we passed through a liquid threshold. A threshold, which diluted any passion for the outside world. The creek carried our cares on its cascades and rapids. Reassuring language of wet notes, rippled out from our new centre, The tempest of negativity washed away by this seemingly endless stream of energy. An effortless exposition of gold, within the white noise of quartz, Tethered our chords to a certain cleft in purposes' peaks And we swung into the warm comfort of sound reason. The rising torrent removes all of our debris, Allowing us to stand, Together, Naked in our true desires. As the waters slowly subside And the face of a crying creek returns, We realise the flooding creek was not seeking to capture us, Or maroon us. It was setting us free! James W. Barnes 15.12.10
