Word Hunt: Look around the room and write words you find to match your patterns in the correct columns. 5 words for each sort Cursive: Write each of your spelling words in your neatest cursive writing. All Ransom Words: Write your words by cutting out letters in a newspaper or magazine and gluing them onto your notebook paper. 10 Words Story: Write a creative story that correctly uses 10 of your spelling words. All Sort, Alphabetize, and Write: Sort your words, put them in alphabetical order, and then write your words in your notebook. All Blind Sort: Use given guide-words and as a partner calls the words out to you, write them under the correct category. All ABC Order: Write your words in ABC order in your notebook. All Word Definitions: Using a dictionary, look up 5 of your words. Write the page number and definition for each of your 5 words. 10 Words Literature Word Hunt: Look through a book, magazine, or newspaper and find words that match your spelling pattern. 5 words for each pattern Across and Down Words: Write each word across and then down. 15 Words Them tHem thEm theM Pyramid Words: Write the words in the shape of a pyramid. 15 Words T TH THE THEM Syllables: Write each word with dashes to separate syllables. 15 Words El-e-phant Expanded Sentences: Recreate the chart below in your notebook, and put a spelling word in the word row. Then, fill in each row for what it is asking. Finally, use each part to build a complete sentence. 5 Sentences
