On
behalf
of
the
National
Stonewall
Democrats
and
our
affiliates
around
the
country,
I
ask
that
you
keep
the
Senate
in
session
until
Don’t
Ask,
Don’t
Tell
has
been
repealed.
I
won’t
go
into
all
the
reasons
why
DADT
needs
to
be
repealed
(as
a
strong
proponent
of
repeal,
I
know
you
know
them
all),
but
I
feel
it’s
important
to
say
that
our
members,
supporters
and
allies
expect
to
see
DADT
legislation
voted
on
and
repealed
in
this
Congress
–
or
it
might
be
years
before
we
do.
The
courageous
women
and
men
who
currently
serve
in
silence
should
not
be
expected
to
continue
to
put
their
own
integrity
on
hold
and
continue
to
lie
in
order
to
serve.
Integrity
and
honor
are
foundational
principles
of
our
military
and
servicemembers
should
not
be
expected
to
lie
about
their
personal
lives
in
order
to
keep
doing
their
job.
We
understand
that
the
barriers
to
passage
are
daunting,
but
we
are
confident
passage
is
indeed
possible
given
enough
time.
We
ask
that
the
Senate
be
given
that
time
to
do
their
job.
We
ask
that
you
keep
them
in
Washington
until
that
job
is
complete.
