The Appropriate Sermon for the Season!

The sermon to preach this Sunday before Christmas is not a sermon on the ‘Virgin Birth’ or the ‘three wise men’ or even a message on John 3:16, but a sermon exposing the Pagan and Romish origins of Christmas and a plea to separate oneself from this ‘Christian’ festival! The preaching of ‘sound doctrine’ is not just to harp on the doctrines of ‘Sovereign Grace’ but to preach the ‘whole counsel of God’! [Act 20:27] And neither does God expect His servants to do this in a mild way! “Cry aloud, spare not, lift up thy voice like a trumpet, and show my people their transgression, and the house of Jacob their sins”. [Isa 58:1]. The word in season or an appropriate sermon to hear this Sunday would be a sermon on Jeremiah 10:1-5. But sadly many preachers already know either consciously or unconsciously what the outcome of such preaching will be! - It will clear their Church pews of the majority of goats and wolves! And this they cannot afford, for it is these goats who fund their ‘Ministry’, so it behooves them to keep these goats amused, since their ‘profession’ is at stake! As one Pastor recently wrote in his ‘News Letter’ – “There is a lot about Christmas activity for the true Christian not to like. Much that we cannot partake of, in good conscience. Remember, the Puritans did not celebrate Christmas, as well as many other Christians of the past, and the situation was not as extreme as it is now. Be that as it may, I am not writing this to condemn Christmas. It likely would do no good; it is here to stay. But if we are going to observe any of it, we should know what it purports to represent. I hope to stir your conscience to put Christ first”. [Charles Woodruff]

The attitude being: “if you cant lick ‘em, join ‘em”! Let’s put Christ back into Christmas! Jesus is the reason for the season! etc Hogwash! Plain rubbish! The stench of a dead lion in God’s nostrils! “For a living dog is better than a dead lion”. [Ecc 9:4]. But these are all dumb dogs, that cannot bark; sleeping, lying down, loving to slumber. [Isa 56:10]. The sermon to listen to this Sunday before Christmas is not a sermon on the ‘Virgin Birth’ or ‘The Three Wise Men’ but a sermon that examines and exposes that which is so commonly considered as a ‘Christian festival’! Unlike the majority of the pantywaist Reformed protestant pastors of our day, Pastor Greg Price has stood up to take a stand for the truth and call a spade a spade! Let me repeat, the preaching of ‘sound doctrine’ is not just harping on the doctrines of Sovereign Grace but exposing and decrying anything and everything that is done in the name of our Lord Jesus which is not according to the Truth! A true witness is not sticking your head in the sand and pretending that all is well (when it is not) but raising your voice and crying out against Hypocrisy and falsehood! [see Isa 58:1] It is said of our Master – “The zeal of Thine house hath eaten Me up”! If the same cannot be said of YOU, you need to examine yourself whether you truly belong to Him! If you really want to know the truth behind this Pagan Romish ‘Christian’ festival and why it is an abomination to God, then take the time to listen to these three wonderful Scriptural audio sermonsChristmas condemned by Christ – Greg Price.

If you don’t have the time to listen to an audio sermon, at least make time to read this challenging article by A.W. Pink – The Sin of celebrating Christ-MASS! – A.W. Pink Do not follow the multitude to do evil [Ex 23:2], but come out of the camp of organized religion (Heb 13:13) and follow Christ our Lord with His persecuted few!
