The Administration strongly opposes the passage of H.R. 2, which would repeal the Affordable Care Act. The Congressional Budget Office estimates that repealing the law would increase the deficit by $230 billion in the first decade and over $1 trillion in the second decade. It would also deny health insurance to an estimated 32 million Americans and cause consumers to pay higher premiums and out-of-pocket costs for fewer benefits. Repealing the law would accelerate Medicare's insolvency and significantly worsen long-term fiscal burdens on American families and businesses.
