A focus on the central theme of righteousness by faith as presented in the 1888 Minneapolis General Conference session. This book is designed to develop the true principles of Christ in the life of the students and prepare them to lead others to the Kingdom through the ministry of the Holy Spirit. Please visit http://breachrepairers.webs.com for info on how to have a preaching, teaching, and healing ministry, and would like to donate to my ministry "Repairers of the Breach." Also look for timely messages that will help you prepare for the 2nd coming of Christ at my vimeo account http://www.vimeo.com/user4272376. Rom 10:17 So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.

The source of our faith is in the Word. So we must understand the characteristics of Word to
understand the characteristics of faith. So what are the characteristics of the Word?

Ps 33:6 By the word of the LORD were the heavens made; and all the host of them by the breath of
his mouth.

Faith has creative power

Is 55:11 So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it
shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it.

When God’s Word goes out, it means that it will do something. The Word of God will accomplish

something in you which pleases God. It is not you that tries to please God, but all you have to do is
to put your faith in God and believe that the Word of God is able to accomplish what it will say. It is
not easy to live a righteous life in a wicked world with your own strength. Faith has self fulfilling
power,
but there is something that you have to do. You have free choice.

Heb 1:3 Who being the brightness of his glory, and the express image of his person, and upholding all
things by the word of his power, when he had by himself purged our sins, sat down on the right hand
of the Majesty on high;

Faith has upholding power, or maintaining power. Eg. The Word created the sun, and it will also
maintain it. The sun will not burn out, neither does God have to continue to say to the sun to
continue to burn. Self-maintaining power.

1 Pet 1:24-25 [24] For all flesh is as grass, and all the glory of man as the flower of grass. The grass
withereth, and the flower thereof falleth away: [25] But the word of the Lord endureth for ever. And
this is the word which by the gospel is preached unto you.

The Word alone is able to uphold you and make you endure forever. It is the Word alone which has
eternal enduring power. Enduring power. Faith is the Word only and not you. (eg. The centurion –

just speak the word).

Gal 5:6 For in Jesus Christ neither circumcision availeth any thing, nor uncircumcision; but faith
which worketh by love.

Faith worketh by love. It comes from the Word of God, but it works by love.

Rom 3:31 Do we then make void the law through faith? God forbid: yea, we establish the law.

We establish the law by faith. Faith cometh from where – Word of God. It worketh by love but in the
end it establishes the law, so it is obedient. So there are three characteristics, faith comes from the
Word, works with love and obeys God’s law. These are found in the characteristics of righteousness.
We are studying righteousness by faith.

Eph 6:23 Peace be to the brethren, and love with faith, from God the Father and the Lord Jesus
Christ.

“love with faith” – when you exercise faith, you love, and when you love, you have faith.

1 Thes 5:8 But let us, who are of the day, be sober, putting on the breastplate of faith and love; and
for an helmet, the hope of salvation.

Breastplate of love and faith

Eph 6:14 Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of
righteousness;

Breastplate of righteousness. So righteousness and love and faith are the same thing.
