Appendix D Seven Organizational Approaches
A. Use the matrix below to describe each approach to organizing information about the body. Discuss how each approach can be used.

Approach
Body planes and directions

Describe the approach
The body planes and directions approach is the division of the body into sections from front to back, right and left, and top and bottom by the use of the midsagittal plane, the coronal plane, and the transverse plane. Along with the movement away from or towards these planes. The body cavity approach is the study of the body cavities and the organs within them.

How might the approach be used?
This approach might be used when studying a certain organs and its surrounding functions or specific areas within the body such as the lungs, brain, or joints and tendons. This approach may be used when studying a specific organ within the body such as the brain, which is located within the cranial cavity. As well as how a disease is affecting a number of different organs within the human body. This approach would be a good approach to use as a reference when conducting a physical examination of internal organs. The anatomy and physiology approach would be a good one to use if one wanted to study the structure and workings of a cell or the human nervous system. The microscopic-to-macroscopic approach would be a good one to use when studying how cells combine to form tissues or how tissues combine to form organs. The body system approach would be a good one to use when studying over the systems of the body such as the circulatory system, the respiratory system, and the excretory system and there functions within the human body. The medical specialty approach would be best used when studying over certain types of diseases like depression that might be affecting the mind, specific areas of the body like the eyes, reproduction issues in men and woman, and the movement and

Quadrant and regions

Anatomy and physiology

The quadrant and region approach is the division of the lower torso area into four quadrant sections or nine region sections in which to help identify the areas in which internal organs are placed. The anatomy and physiology approach is the study of the structures of the human body and the study of the function and workings of those structures. The microscopic-to-macroscopic approach is the study of the bodies smallest parts and how they come together to make larger and more complex structures and systems. The body system approach is the study of the bodies various organs and how they function together within the body.

Medical specialty

The medical specialty approach is the study of the human body according to the practice of medicine used. This specific approach organizes the body into specific categories relating to the use or study of anatomy, physiology, diseases, diagnostic tests, medical and surgical procedures,

I believe that the body directions and plane approach would be a good one in studying the heart. Complete the following matrix. excretion systems of the body. I believe that both of these approaches would be good in studying cardiology because. body cavities. identify which body approach(es) might best be used to organize information. Choose only from the following approaches: microscopic-tomacroscopic.and drugs. System Gastroenterology Approach The body cavities approach Explanation I believe that the body cavity approach would be the best one to use for the study of gastroenterology because all of the structures located within this study are located within the body cavities of the human body. body directions and planes. I believe that the approach of body directions and planes would be best used for the study of Pulmonology because the structure of this study lies within the superior part of the body when divided by the transverse plane. and the microscopic-to-macroscopic approach would be a good one to use in determining what illnesses may be ailing the heart. and quadrants and regions. cardiology specifies on the study of the heart and the care of all things related to the heart. B. I believe that the approach of microscopic-to-macroscopic is the best approach to use for the study of immunology because the specific Body directions and planes approach Pulmonology Cardiology Body directions and planes approach or the microscopic-to-macroscopic approach Hematology Body directions and planes approach or the microscopic-to-macroscopic approach Immunology The microscopic-to-macroscopic approach HCA 220 . For each body system. which is located within the superior part of the body when divided by the transverse plane. Therefore. I believe that both of these approaches would be appropriate for the study of hematology because if the study was based on the movement of the blood then the body directions and planes approach would be the one to use since it deals with the movement to and from the center of origins. I also believe that microscopic-tomacroscopic would be appropriate because If the study were based on only the blood cells and plasma then this approach would be better used. Justify your reasoning.

hormones causing the endocrinologically related problems will be determined. with the given choices. I believe that the best approach to studying orthopedics would be the body directions and planes approach. The planes and directions are also most helpful in identifying the parts of the system with defects identified through radiological examinations. so the approach of body directions and planes could be used to section out these muscles in order to better study there purposes and characteristics.Body directions and planes approach Orthopedics Body planes and directions Neurology Endocrinology The microscopic-to-macroscopic approach studies functions include within it white blood cells. Through microscopic study. Neurology takes care of the disorders of the nervous system. the microscopic study will be the best approach. HCA 220 . which cannot be studied by the human eye. I believe this way because the muscles within the human body are structured throughout the entire body. It would be most helpful to use the body directions and planes to assess which part of the body is affected which will trace up which part of the nervous system is the root of the problem. Since endocrinology is mostly related to hormones.
