God's resources together. if allowed to truly emerge. God is redefining how to "do" church to functioning as The Church. This functioning will reduce the load off pastors and resources. It is my desire that this short writing will begin to unlock our mindsets to begin to connect the gifts. Part of the “people” resources available are the five fold ministry gifts of Ephesians 4.Introduction As The Church is unfolding and starting into the reformation process to prepare for harvest and awakening. This resource is mainly functioning in part and has not really been connected in a true Biblical model. God is shifting our approaches and mindsets concerning our identity and function. God does not ask us to do things without resources to accomplish the assignment. programs or things. 1 . Our greatest resources are not buildings. God's resources are already in place and now only need to be tapped into and allowed to function in the unfolding picture. but people. Most do not realize these precious “gifts” to the Body exist or they deny their expression thus hindering themselves and others.
prophets. 12 For the perfecting of the saints. for the work of the ministry. and of the knowledge of the Son of God. and some. apostles. We also see many types of para-church ministries functioning. For the most part. pastors and teachers . unto the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ : Let's look at two distinct models emerging in the church: apostolic churches and kingdom centers. evangelists. Jesus Christ himself being the chief corner stone. Apostolic churches and centers are 2 . They are places teams and companies are sent from and also the places they go to minister.Apostolic Churches and Kingdom Centers Ephesians 2:20 And are built upon the foundation of the apostles and prophets. for the edifying of the body of Christ : 13 Till we all come in the unity of the faith. Ephesians 4:11-13 And he gave some. and some. unto a perfect man. we all understand the many faceted church structures that currently exist. and some.
Let's start by looking at apostolic churches.very different in DNA and function than the typical models that now exist. or having an apostle come from time to time to speak. like typical structures. You do not have to have an apostle leading a church for the church to have apostolic nature. some monthly and some every few months. A good definition of apostolic churches is a New Testament type church within a region that functions from a true Biblical perspective concerning apostles and prophets as the foundation of the church and allowed to govern the church through a team of five fold offices. Generally. worth. Apostolic churches have a Kingdom of God dynamic and focus. In other words. They minister to participators in gift and personal development to release the person‟s identity. apostolic churches relate to an apostle in some aspect. and placement in the kingdom instead of problem solving. I relate to several pastors and ministries in all kinds of denominations. Some I am in contact with weekly. 3 . The senior leader may be apostolic or relating to an apostle. destiny. there is a definite connection somewhere to the apostolic.
they witnessed these different dynamics and were able to connect and bring new team members from one local church to another to help facilitate growth. As apostolic teams and companies traveled. By allowing the individual expression of the apostolic churches. This allowed freedom and development in the Spirit to occur in each local apostolic church. In the New Testament. apostolic teams and companies are able to see the lack and the answers needed to help facilitate increased spiritual growth in the apostolic churches they related to. The apostolic churches 4 . It also allowed for faster growth in some churches than others. Each church was allowed to develop and express its own belief system individually while still being connected to a corporate body. bringing greater variety to the overall Body of Christ. but not under a central form of church government. each apostolic church that was formed related to an apostolic team that helped oversee their ministry. Each apostolic church was connected to the apostles and prophets in relationship. This growth brought about different types of expressions to be developed. and by staying connected by relationships and not a central government. because the limitations of conformity were removed.
their authority and ability to minister to needs in a greater fashion increased. first with ministers. After all. As apostolic teams traveled into local churches. The outcome is multiplication. Many times pastors do not relate to apostles because they believe they do not bring anything of value to them. 5 . there was a greater impartation to the leaders which also caused their job to become easier. When their perceptions changed. it makes the pastor's job easier if embraced. This is because of mobilization and the release of the entire Body of Christ represented.within regions worked more together with an overall mindset of what was good for the Body of Christ than how many people did they get within their local structure. and then with those able to be touched. they are the ones doing the real work of ministry. and grew concerning the Kingdom. and the completion of calling occurs. This greater revelation brought an infusion of a fresh perception concerning the Kingdom. Most apostles bring such greater insights and revelation. True apostolic churches carry greater impact than conventional church models. The church leader benefits and the people do as well.
The function and expression of each of these is different. prayer. prayer is more intense and moves into true intercession with many participating. This comes from a greater visionary posture based on understanding the Kingdom. Teaching may be more revelatory and the ministries are designed to release people into function and are more non-traditional taking on dynamics that are relevant to society. 1 Corinthians 3:5-10 Who then is Paul. but ministers by whom ye believed. and different types of ministry.Apostolic Churches look at and take on projects affecting more than themselves. but God that giveth the increase . but God gave the increase . Worship is more expressive and free. teaching. They have some of the same structure as conventional churches with elements of worship. neither he that watereth. Apollos watered. 7 So then neither is he that planteth any thing. and who is Apollos. 8 Now he that planteth and he that watereth are one: and every man shall receive his own reward according to 6 . but the Body of Christ and unbelievers. even as the Lord gave to every man ? 6 I have planted.
Apostolic or Kingdom centers are now emerging to help current ministries and new apostolic churches emerging. 7 . I have laid the foundation. as a wise masterbuilder. Kingdom centers see regions and assignments. These are aspects such as School of Ministries or in-depth teaching training the saints to do the work of ministry. But let every man take heed how he buildeth thereupon. This includes becoming a place of great resource that others can draw from. ye are God’s building . They become gathering places for the Body of Christ regionally through conferences and other types of special meetings. They take the role in ministry that most churches cannot do or do not have expertise to do. and another buildeth thereon. it is a place to help supplement those desiring more than a local church setting. In other words. 10 According to the grace of God which is given unto me. Kingdom centers work to develop all the dynamics of regional church and churches for reformation and awakening. They are places of connecting various ministries with each other for interaction. 9 For we are labourers together with God: ye are God’s husbandry .his own labour .
Paul having passed through the upper coasts came to Ephesus: and finding certain disciples. that. Most kingdom centers have pastoral staff to help minister to individual needs.Kingdom centers generally are led by Apostolic and Prophetic teams. born at Alexandria. while Apollos was at Corinth. Acts 19:1 And it came to pass. 8 . Acts 18:21 But bade them farewell. and reasoned with the Jews. Acts 18:24 And a certain Jew named Apollos. And he sailed from Ephesus . This brings both the mind of God and the strategy of God for a region. I must by all means keep this feast that cometh in Jerusalem: but I will return again unto you. came to Ephesus. an eloquent man. saying.Kingdom centers become the places apostolic teams and companies are sent forth from. and mighty in the scriptures. Acts 18:19 And he came to Ephesus. if God will. and left them there: but he himself entered into the synagogue. but who do not lead the center itself.
Most Pastoral viewpoints are people‟s individual needs. but especially to leaders who have grown weary. they are able to be places of refreshing for those in ministry. They become a source that minister to those desiring more. In a Kingdom center. Kingdom centers shift the person into the cause of the Kingdom and the role their life plays in it. Being part of a kingdom center has a higher expectation than a local church. publishing of materials. the expectation is to conquer your personal problems and sustain your spiritual life. In an apostolic church. the expectation is both of the above. a full reproduction studio for new music. Our ministry base is doing all of these and has added Transparent Studio. plus a coming together for common cause to impact regions! Because of the spiritual liberty and depth Kingdom centers have. reproduction of CDs and music and other ministries. the expectation is that your life will impact others. The off shoot of this is other types of ministries such as websites with teaching and MP3 messages. We have also 9 . In a typical local church. Most kingdom centers have regional cause and vision that supersedes what local churches present.
signs. In all honesty. releasing destiny and maintaining and advancing the Kingdom. Since the eyes of a region are upon them. The development of people in giftings. if Pastors and churches would support Kingdom Centers and encourage their people to attend them and their events. is very much a DNA of Kingdom Centers. Kingdom centers also seem to have higher standards than most typical church models. etc. using their drawings for flyers. brochures. we see them working together for the same things. the pastoral job would be much easier. Because they have a focus for regional change and ministry to leaders and emerging leaders. So looking at Apostolic churches working with Kingdom centers.released artists to draw. They are not out to conform belief systems but challenge believers to live at a higher standard than just getting by. The approaches may differ slightly but the 10 . they must maintain and lead by modeling an exemplary approach to life. the standards are high. The expectation to be an example by doing things in excellence. Kingdom Centers do not want to gather people to retain them but to train and release them to be productive.
One is within a region or state and the other within a local Body or city.primary assignment of both is the Kingdom. we would have a dynamic relationship driven ministry base covering all aspects needed in the Body of Christ. If we had apostolic based churches along with Kingdom centers. 11 .
While many strive to build a ministry or man made structures. God is establishing those who have a heart for His Kingdom and to see His will done on a 12 .Apostolic Teams and Companies Emerging To Transform Regions Ephesians 2:20 And are built upon the foundation of the apostles and prophets. and some. Ephesians 4:11-13 And he gave some. for the work of the ministry. Jesus Christ himself being the chief corner stone . unto a perfect man. for the edifying of the body of Christ : 13 Till we all come in the unity of the faith. and some. pastors and teachers . 12 For the perfecting of the saints. How exactly will the things we know are out of order be put in order for the sake of the harvest? The Lord has a plan that is quietly unfolding that is aligning and bringing things into order. a question arises upon everyone‟s hearts and minds. and of the knowledge of the Son of God. unto the measure of the stature of the fulness of Christ : With reformation in the beginning stages. and some. apostles. prophets. evangelists.
What so many are striving for really has no bearing unless God gives increase. God is not violating His word but is also building. it is all in vain. ye are God’s building . Apollos watered. The Church has taken on a pastoral identity or mindset with a focus upon us. God is dealing in this hour with the identity of The Church (His people) and how they are to truly function. 4 to equip the saints. we will struggle finding our placement in the plan and Body of Christ. They are the five fold ministries of Eph. Part of that equipping is to bring identity. For the most part. Without that perspective. Without a solid awareness inside of us.Apostolic teams and Apostolic Companies. This is not putting down pastors or what they do. His will be done”. 14 . Apostolic Teams and Apostolic Companies that are formed or emerging. we will remain introverted and self seeking instead of harvest focused and willing to sacrifice to see “His Kingdom come. They are apostolic people. We will assume that most people reading this are familiar with apostles and prophets so we will look at two dynamics unfolding. Missing is an Apostolic and Prophetic identity concerning how our lives fit into the Kingdom of God. Without identity. resolved function is unclear and boldness and confidence in assignments are lacking. Apostolic Teams bring this greater identity to the Body of Christ.reformers. but is simply the difference in giftings.
An apostolic team is a team of apostles and prophets sent to a particular region to bring the full expression of the Gospel of the Kingdom to bear within that given region. Acts 13:1-3 Now there were in the church that was at Antioch certain prophets and teachers; as Barnabas, and Simeon that was called Niger, and Lucius of Cyrene, and Manaen, which had been brought up with Herod the tetrarch, and Saul . 2 As they ministered to the Lord, and fasted, the Holy Ghost said, Separate me Barnabas and Saul for the work whereunto I have called them . 3 And when they had fasted and prayed, and laid their hands on them, they sent them away .
Since God is building structures in this hour, the structure built by His hand is not brick and mortar, but an Apostolic Team of leaders to go forth and impact regions. It takes a team of leaders to recognize and release another team of leaders. That is the pattern we see in the above scripture. It is bringing affirmation and recognition to the emerging leaders so confidence can come and assignments be accomplished. What is needed and now 15
beginning to form within states is this team of leaders. Leaders who have nothing to gain but to see regions and the state changed. Leaders who have been through the fire and have not gotten bitter. Leaders who are managing portions of The Kingdom and approach things as true fathers. Leaders who are not looking for their gain but the gain of others. If something is truly Kingdom, you will not benefit from it personally unless it comes through a corporate body. In other words, Kingdom is not selfish, hording, or greedy. It is giving, affirming, and willing to share the things freely given. In the Bible, we see apostolic teams of Apostles and Prophets function in two distinct areas. First they are trans-local. This means they went into areas and opened new regions to the gospel of the Kingdom. Trans-local ministry is assignment focused. It is advancing. Today we have true Apostles and Prophets but we need to change how we allow them to function. Biblically they did not come for speaking engagements and leave. No, they actually settled for a period of time until the assignment was in motion and Kingdom dynamics had taken hold. Then they would either return to a ministry base or to the
next assignment. They have an anointing to break regions open if we would allow them to! The second area of function is in the area of discipleship. It is building. When remaining local, Apostles and Prophets would teach and instruct, equipping the saints for the work of the ministry. Sadly today many Apostles and Prophets are running schools of ministry or other stationary ministries as a means of support. Some may have a calling just for equipping but I believe this equipping is not just for a stationary location, but is for the Body at large. In Acts, as Apostolic Teams traveled, they brought along other ministry gifts and traveling companions to form what is called an Apostolic company. These companies were formed, based on the need associated with the current Kingdom assignment they were to accomplish. In other words, it was a privilege to travel with the Apostolic Team more so than an earned right. It would mean you had specific abilities and giftings needed to accomplish the assignment. It also meant you would have to take on certain responsibilities as well, but also gave specific privilege. As a team and companies ministered in Acts, they also endured hardships together. 17
These sufferings only cemented their commitments to each other and brought greater unity among the believers. They believed the same things, spoke the same things, endured the same things, and ministered along the same flow of the Spirit. The message being brought confirmed God working among them. It showed them as a force who knew deep in their hearts the truth they were conveying which brought great confidence and boldness. Apostolic companies were formed out of the disciples who understood and could discern doctrine, live a disciplined life and could hear the voice of God with clarity. Apostolic companies are those who come alongside Apostles and Prophets to work with them in accomplishing Kingdom assignments by breaking open regions. Acts 13:13 Now when Paul and his company loosed from Paphos, they came to Perga in Pamphylia: and John departing from them returned to Jerusalem . Acts 21:8 And the next day we that were of Paul’s company departed, and came unto Caesarea: and we
Being part of an apostolic company is the place where emerging leaders were tested in real life situations. Like Apostolic Teams. These were emerging leaders. let's not forget Timothy. 19 . Apostolic Companies have two distinct functions as well. it was the application of what they had been taught locally. the company functions by maintaining the spiritual climate and also the physical structure. It was the place of discipleship. and receiving instruction. On the local level. which was one of the seven. trans-local and local. These were some that would be left behind to establish elders in churches. before they would travel out. It is where they understood ministry and had a chance for their faith to be tested. and of course. Paul had several who traveled with him from time to time as his company. The trans-local ministry of those in an apostolic company was to minister to the needs within a region and to partner with Apostles and Prophets to see regions break open to the Kingdom of God. In other words. It was the proving ground of faithfulness.entered into the house of Philip the evangelist. and abode with him . equipping. Here are just a few names we never recognize.
Sopater- Paul‟s companion on many journeys Aristarchus. prayer movements. drama teams. traveling worship teams. We call them by different names than an apostolic company. In all honesty. Many have heard the call and have gathered without apostles and prophets to lead them. I say this because what God has been doing is bringing apostolic expression into the Body. and people gathering to seek God for change as watchmen on the walls.Friend of Paul‟s / Ephesus Today we have many different expressions of apostolic companies. but that is what they are.Paul‟s companion 3rd journey From Thessalonica SecundusPaul‟s companion 3rd journey From Thessalonica GaiusPaul‟s companion on most journeys From Macedonia TychicusFriend of Paul‟s / Asian Trophimus. Women‟s Aglow. houses of prayer. are all types of formed or emerging apostolic companies. but are taking on an apostolic nature because that is the focus 20 . parachurch ministries.
I believe it is true of other states as well. It is still under a pastoral approach and not apostolic and prophetic. What are missing are the true apostles and prophets to bring that covering and impartation of Kingdom DNA allowing the emerging 21 . The Lord recently showed me some key things concerning our state. We can have apostolic nature without being an apostle or being under one. Our State is full of emerging apostolic companies but as I look at them. It is as if they are missing a piece of the puzzle so that it all makes sense. or to guide through difficult decisions. I see many desiring the greater things of God. That is why so many things are functioning and ministering to individuals.upon The Church. but not fully understanding. but not really impacting regions. This is probably one of the points needing defined in the Body as “many call themselves apostles and they are not”. I don't see real apostles and prophets present to give counsel. we have an emerging structure without true Biblical foundations in place of apostles and prophets. strategy. It is the current influence the Holy Spirit is emphasizing and has been for some time. In other words.
apostolic companies to connect with assignments and a corporate cause. The Lord showed me it is as if these apostolic companies (even though they do not see themselves that way) are orphaned from the current church structure not really “fitting into the family” but still not having any adopted parents. The parents they are looking for are the Apostles and Prophets to bring the Father heart of God and the Revelation of God. In all honesty, most if very successful, are being run more by good administrator giftings than true Apostolic or Prophetic offices. One of the mandates God has placed on us as a ministry is to bring together an Apostolic Team within our state to connect those emerging and already formed apostolic companies. This will not be a forced agenda but will be relationship built. We have already established many beginning relationships with these companies in the state and now we will endeavor to both deepen them and also establish new ones as well. The Lord showed me a revelation concerning apostolic companies. The Biblical pattern in Acts was churches were birthed out of the apostolic teams and companies as they traveled. The apostolic companies 22
preceded the church being birthed and formed. They established elders and true government. Could the current and emerging apostolic companies need to be mobilized so the true Church can be birthed and formed from them? I am not discarding the existing church structure because every leader in scripture including Jesus emerged from an old wineskin. They had new wineskin hearts that formed a new wineskin around them. But could it be, as goes these formed and emerging apostolic companies so goes The Church? What would happen if all these companies had apostolic and prophetic oversight? A tremendous shift would occur because of the influence that would quickly spread. We really need true Apostles and Prophets to rise within our states, coming together as an Apostolic council similar to the one in Jerusalem. This council needs to connect with the emerging and formed companies within our states. The goal is not to make a singular company or structure or organization but to align with apostles and prophets to be given specific Kingdom assignments and a corporate cause that not only touches The Church but the unbelievers as well. We have approached so many things from so many angles but have we truly approached 23
things from a true Biblical pattern? I believe if we will, then this will cause “A great Awakening” and humanity as a whole will be confronted with and touched with the gospel of the Kingdom!
I would like to talk about some of the things I see happening that will help us embrace true apostolic teams. This spirit always comes with new moves of God as people who are insecure of their calling and anointing are threatened by the next move. there is a constant vying for positioning coming from a spirit of jealousy and competition. Sometimes it is a feeling of being exposed. sometimes it is a power struggle of having control over their life and others lives as well. Because of this. there are also counterfeits and those desiring titles without fruit or function. Many are trying to be Apostles with only partial understanding as people have declared these things falsely over people.Exposure of False Prophets and Apostles Along with everything God births. or they have received some teaching on the subject and think they are an expert concerning this area. I believe what we see now is only a forerunner of the true apostolic movement that is to come. I have came to the conclusion that we are indeed living in a progressive revelation that continues to unfold. With every move of God. those who are truly doing apostolic work “ have not been this 25 . companies and Apostles and Prophets.
but only give some expression of what it would entail.a prophet pointed to Joshua. and give time for repentance before God brings judgment against them.way before” like Joshua and the answers to define things are not yet fully comprehended. since God is the one unfolding things and we are only stewards or managers of the “mysteries of Christ”.an apostle. Samuel to David. Each could not define the next movement. even in the region of the state we are in. These are also reflected in the gifts. John the Baptist to Jesus and Jesus to the 12 Apostles. The pattern in the Bible is Moses. The Bible in the Old Testament has many types and shadows. specifically apostles and prophets. Each of these also had false prophets trying to point to false apostles as well. I believe the fear of engaging in something false is what is keeping the true from fully being accepted. Today. True Apostles will point out these false prophets and spirits. I also believe because apostles and prophets do not have the “full 26 . we are no different with false prophets trying to operate. All true apostles eventually come to a statement that they are not exactly sure what this will look like at the end. The prophetic movement has come to point to the next movement which is apostolic.

All false people do three things. Abiathar. they proclaim their ministry without affirmation. we see an unholy alliance being formed with a self appointed false apostle. Abiathar. who is to be watching out for David as the one in charge of security and the army. and kingdom mindsets. we see the true do not associate with the false but maintain a distance. We see that even though someone is in an office. we see that these false leaders produce false sacrifices to affirm themselves. They do not expose themselves by coming into a relationship with those who are true. In this story. In verse 7. In verse 9. not appointed. Adonijah. the false apostle. there was no true repentance and Adonijah said in 1Kings 2:13-18 and still proclaimed what he covets in his heart concerning the kingdom. But Solomon ordered him to be killed as well. False ministry is always given the time to repent. 23 he declared Adonijah is condemned by his own words and in verse 24 declared that he be put to death. We see them scattered throughout the book of Psalms. In vs. In this case. is that the false will be exposed and will be brought down. who ran into the tabernacle thinking this would protect him from certain death. even if he could not have the kingdom then at least the king‟s handmaiden who was still a virgin. and spoke to him that he would not die but be removed from office. For David and Solomon. I have had to confront some of these very things. not in a vengeful way. Lately. It is a time to recognize true callings from the false. 32 . for one. Like the disappointment of pastoral duties. will not because I feel I am judged or guilty by association. we will know the mantle is about to be passed to the next generation. We also need to realize that God will use men. to expose and deal with false ministries. These are the things true apostles do to maintain sound doctrine. When these things begin to come to pass. We should not associate with those who are false. These sufferings form true character and an uncompromising foundation for The Church and other true ministers. it was not pleasant but it was all part of Kingdom necessaries.
Honorable Men & Women While looking at apostolic companies and seeing also the potential for false apostles and prophets to rise up. Men who will go out in battle for us and battle with us to fight our enemies Helping with our brother‟s battle makes the right heart attitude in us 33 . what are we looking for as the substance we would build relationships with? Here are some simple requirements we look for in building relationship with leaders and those desiring to affiliate with us. Those who are in the same covenant and partake of the same destiny Commitment to the long distance. 1. Finishing the same destiny Sacrificed to be in covenant Connected uniquely Help trumpet the same cause 2.
