Look forward to life

T

his is it. Your New Year is here. Though you cannot go back, you can do even better than

ever as you move forward. No matter how many other years you've already seen, you can make this the best one yet. Of course there are plenty of challenges, and more are likely to be on the way real soon. But you've already come through a whole lot of them, and now you can put all that experience to positive and meaningful use. Glance back for a moment and you'll clearly see that life is always what you choose to make it, no matter what else might be going on. Now look forward with a renewed determination, and make the choice to live with more meaning and richness than ever before. In your heart, you know why. With your considerable experience of living, you know how. As this New Year begins, look forward to the opportunity you now have of experiencing life at a new and more fulfilling level. On this very first day of the year, look forward to being the best you've ever been at being you. -- Ralph Marston

Exceedingly positive

D

on't worry about getting it done. Just get it done.

Don't complain about what has gone wrong. Just do whatever is necessary to make it right. Your time and energy are too precious and too powerful to waste on things that will just bring you down. Instead of bringing yourself down, lift the whole world up. Decide to live life on your own terms and make those terms exceedingly positive. Choose to spend each priceless moment in the service of your highest values. Whatever the situation, you get to decide how you will be. So always direct your energy to where it will bring new richness to your world. Take everything in stride, and respond with your own unique, positive perspective. Live on the highest level you can envision, and cheerfully encourage everyone else to come along. -- Ralph Marston

The truth of who you are

T

he challenge of successful living is not in gaining access to life's abundance, for there is

always plenty of it. The challenge is in recognizing that abundance and making it into things that are meaningful and fulfilling.

Just as a tiny seed has within it all the information necessary to grow a massive tree, so do you have within you the kernel of your own fulfillment. That fulfillment comes about when you are most authentically you. You cannot deny your purpose in the name of success. For if there is no purpose behind the result, there is no success. Feel the truth of who you are. Put that truth into action in each moment of your life. You are highly skilled and experienced at taking action and making things happen. So choose to make those things happen that create and support what you value most. Pay great and loving attention to who you are. Continually give your own unique treasure to life, and you'll experience life at its absolute best. -- Ralph Marston

You can imagine

I

magination never runs out. Go ahead and use it freely, for the more you make use of it, the

more you'll have. Every experience gives you more substance on which to base your imagination. And whatever you imagine provides you with possibilities for even more beautiful experiences. Don't limit yourself to merely imagining what is reasonable. Though reason certainly has its place, it quickly grows stale without fresh infusions of free and untamed imagination. You can imagine anything, so make positive and meaningful use of your powerful imagination. You can imagine anything, so imagine your way to a life of joy and fulfillment. Your imagination is truly a powerful skill, and yet once you imagine that is not the end of it. For not only can you imagine, you can take whatever you imagine and find a way to bring it to life. Let yourself imagine the best you can imagine. Imagine a world so beautiful and compelling that you cannot help but do all that's in your power to make it real.

Absolutely convinced

T

he way to get yourself to do anything is to first accept that you must do it. Until you stop

fighting against yourself, you'll never get much done. It is common and natural to avoid difficult, challenging effort. Even so, you can always choose to allow yourself to make the effort. You absolutely have the ability to do the necessary work and reach whatever goal you set for yourself. To fully unleash that ability, you just have to fully and sincerely buy into the goal. It is essential that you completely convince yourself of the worthiness and desirability of what you intend to do. Once you are absolutely convinced, you'll be absolutely committed. The most important person to have on your side is you. Once you are truly convinced and committed, you'll be able to get other people convinced and committed. When it means everything to you, you'll make the commitment to do whatever it takes. And with that total commitment, you'll get it done. -- Ralph Marston

In each small moment

H

ow do you achieve big results from modest efforts? You persevere in those modest efforts.

Perseverance is really nothing more than acting each time you have the opportunity to act. Perseverance is continuing to do what you've already been doing, and anyone can do that. Perseverance will bring great, magnificent results. Yet perseverance gets its power from the small, ordinary moments. Though you may not be able to do a whole lot in just one small moment, there is always something vitally important that you can do. You can keep going. Through every excuse, every setback, each distraction and each mistake, you can persevere. You will get where you choose to go by staying the course at every opportunity. On the other side of perseverance is whatever you dare to imagine and intend. In each small moment use the time to persevere, and harvest the great bounty of your own success. -- Ralph Marston

Let life's abundance flow

D

on't resist life's immense abundance. Let it flow throughout your world.

Let it flow through your thoughts, your actions, your words and your feelings. Let go of the doubts and fears that seem so real but which exist only because you keep them alive. Replace those doubts with beautiful, authentic dreams. Replace your fears with powerful, positive determination and the commitment to be your best. Living at your full potential is well within your reach right now. You simply must make the choice to do it. As long as you're going through this day, you might as well experience it in the best way you can. In all you do, open yourself to the fullness of life's magnificent possibilities. Make the choice in every moment to give your best and to take in all the value that is yours to be lived. Let go of your resistance, and let life's abundance flow. -- Ralph Marston

Let peace be

P

ut the power of peace in your life. Let the power of peace fill your moments and your world.

When you are at peace, your thoughts and actions bring maximum results. When you are at peace, you can feel the perfect worthiness of all that you truly are. Peace comes with being honest, with yourself, with others, in your thoughts and your intentions. Peace comes with being thankful without condition or limitation. Peace is always there within you. Turn loose of the anger, frustration, worries, judgments and distractions, and that peace will begin to shine through. Peace is who you are when you are completely honest. Live from your authentic center, and you will live with peace. In peace there is great positive power. Let peace be, and let it come through you. -- Ralph Marston

Go get more

Y

ou do not grow old simply by living a certain number of years. You grow old only when

you stop filling those years with new substance and value. Don't spend all your time and energy merely confirming again and again what you already know. That will make you too old too soon. Instead, put your effort and energy into learning, discovering and experiencing what you do not yet know. That will keep your life young, fresh and vibrant, even as the years continue to progress. There are all kinds of new things you can learn today. There are all sorts of great ways to challenge your assumptions and increase your wisdom. If you think you know it all, you're cheating yourself out of the opportunity to continually build upon your knowledge. If you refuse to challenge your beliefs, those beliefs will begin to imprison you rather than support you. Treasure the knowledge you possess and all the rich experiences you've had. Then get up, get out there and get a whole lot more.

-- Ralph Marston

Where you belong

P

ut yourself where you belong. Go with what you know is right for you.

Whatever you most love to do is what you will do best. Places where you love to be, and people you love to be around, will bring out your highest level of effectiveness. Put yourself in those places and get yourself around those people as much as you can. Be where you belong and you'll be your very best. When something feels right, that means it is right for you. Pay attention to your authentic feelings, and follow where they lead. It's not frivolous or selfish to do what you love. When you're doing what you love, you're able to give the best of who you are. Be the way you want to be, feel the way you like to feel and do the things you wish to do. Get yourself where you truly belong, and live your own special greatness. -- Ralph Marston

With just a thought
You are free in this moment to think whatever thoughts you choose to think. And even one small thought has the power to change your life. Your current thoughts determine your present perspective. Your perspective controls which possibilities are the most prominent in your awareness. With nothing more than a positive thought, you can bring possibilities to light that may have been hidden for years. With just a thought, you can alter the reality of the world you see. If you so choose, your thoughts can empower and inspire you. They can motivate you to get going and push you to persist. With just a thought, you can move from selfpity to self-empowerment. With just a thought, you can evict the fear from your future and replace it with positive determination. What positive, empowering thought will get you moving right now in the direction of your

dreams? Think that thought, and suddenly you're on your way. -- Ralph Marston

Stop stopping yourself
Stop stopping yourself. Stop holding yourself
back. Yes, the world throws all sorts of difficult challenges your way. And you can find a way to transcend every one of them. Yet you must choose to do so. You must make the commitment, deep within yourself, to live with richness and purpose and fulfillment. Many events, people and situations will challenge you and hamper your progress. However, the only limitations that can stop you completely are the limitations you place on yourself. See that the doubts and limiting beliefs are of no use to you. Choose to simply and effortlessly let them go, just like that. Your dreams are calling to you right now, calling for you to begin living them in this very

moment. Stop holding yourself back, and let yourself be all you know you can be. -- Ralph Marston

Getting your way
Is the desire to get your way, actually getting in your way? Often we're so obsessed with getting our way, that we miss out on the good things that life has to offer. We whine and complain about insignificant details, and life just passes by without us. We might win the battle of the moment, but in the long run we lose. Happiness is not defined by always getting your way. Sure, you have things you want to accomplish, things you want to have, things you want to be. But remember, fulfillment does not always come where we expect to find it. The things we desire will come, though not necessarily in the ways we anticipate. Don't be so obsessed with getting your way, that you lose the opportunity to have what you really want.

Feel life

I

n order to feel your immense power, you must feel. Just go ahead and allow your authentic,

living feelings to be, and move your life powerfully forward. The way you feel connects you to the truth of who you are. Accept and acknowledge those feelings, and that truth becomes increasingly clear. Listen to what you are telling yourself with the way you feel. Acquaint yourself with the full extent of the power you have by fully feeling the beautiful reality of who you are. Be willing to accept the feelings as they come, and nurture your life with their energy. Then, be just as willing to let them go, so they never have to burden you, and so there will be space for new feelings to arise. Instead of pushing your feelings down with judgment and fear, welcome the authentic power and truth they bring. You are here now to feel every rich and vibrant aspect of your existence. Feel the life that is yours in each moment you live. Feel the truth, feel the positive power, and make a uniquely beautiful life with it all. -- Ralph Marston

Unique voice

Y
are.

ou are a unique voice. Use that voice to say what you truly mean, to express who you really

The value in your life comes from your desire to live it in your own special way. Feel the substance of those deeply held desires, and give them life in each moment. The most meaningful and helpful gifts you can give to others come from your own unique perspective. Celebrate and joyfully give life to that perspective in new and creative ways each day. Within you there is immense and unique value. Don't be ashamed or afraid to let it flow out from you, for it can brighten and enhance every circumstance. If others choose to place negative judgments on you, that's their problem, not yours. Keep right on expressing your own special perspective, and you cannot help but create impressive, exceptional value. Sing your own songs with your own distinct voice, and give the beauty of your joyful, creative self to each moment. Let your very own light shine brilliantly today, and every day, on all of life.

Aside from the drama

Y

ou have created the stories in your mind that continue to give power to your limitations.

And just as you have created those stories, you can let them go. You have the ability to hold yourself back, and to hide your true power from yourself. And when you choose, you can reveal that great power, allowing yourself to become aware of it, and make full, creative, beneficial use of it. What you have hidden or ignored, you can even more easily discover and utilize. Instead of struggling around what should or should not have been, awaken to the immense power and joyful possibility of what is. Fulfillment is your natural state, if only you will let it be. Step easily and peacefully aside from the drama you've invented about what has been or what will be, and experience the positive power that is now. In whatever you truly appreciate, you will find great value. So choose to appreciate all that is and all that you are. Are you ready to live at the very highest level? Step completely into now with no judgments or reservations, and let yourself be.

Unconditional enjoyment

O

ne of the most reliable ways to ruin your enjoyment of life is to put too many conditions on

that enjoyment. You can put so much time and energy into getting the conditions just right, that there's nothing left to enjoy. Instead of seeking and striving to enjoy life, just simply enjoy it. Enjoy the moment you're in, without placing so many judgments or conditions on it. Is it really so important that events and circumstances line up in exactly the way you wish? Of course it's not. Often, life's surprises can turn out to be pleasant surprises if you'll simply let them. Make the choice to do less fighting against what comes, and more enjoying of what is. Think of the time and effort you put into proving you're right or getting your way. Visualize spending that time instead in unconditional, authentic enjoyment of the amazing life with which you're blessed. Don't work so hard to make enjoyment what you think it should be. Just relax and let your life be filled with the rich enjoyment of each special moment. -- Ralph Marston

Feeling like it

I

f you don't feel like doing something you know you must do, it's fine to feel that way. Accept

and appreciate that feeling, allow and experience it. Then once the feeling has finished having its say, it will go along on its way, and you can do what you know you must do. You can feel that feeling completely without giving in to it or fighting against it. When you feel the urge to do what you know you must not do, go ahead and let yourself feel it completely. Be thankful for the feeling, and then just let it go. Your feelings are yours to experience and enjoy, to learn from, to inform you, and to give richness to your life. But they never have to define you or control you. You can do what you have chosen to do, whether you feel like it at the moment or not. Just as you have created the feeling, you can let it go. Decide what you will do with this day, and then do what is necessary to make it happen. You'll find that to be the best feeling of all. -- Ralph Marston

Your very best effort

D

on't let your disappointment become an excuse to stop caring. If you seek to

avoid all possibilities of disappointment, you'll end up avoiding all opportunities for fulfillment.

It can be painful when your results don't match your expectations. However, if you never make the attempt, the pain of your regret will be far greater than the pain of any disappointment. It may not be much fun, but you can handle the disappointments. In fact, you can choose to let each disappointment make you even more positively motivated and committed. Don't run away or hide from life just because it hurts sometimes. Give your time and energy to what you truly care about, instead of wasting your precious moments in worry and fear. Though many factors are beyond your control, you can always control where your energy is focused. Your best strategy is to focus that energy toward creating the life you most sincerely desire. Remind yourself that you can successfully deal with whatever results you get. Then step forward, give your very best effort, and bring your dreams to life.

Small decisions

T

he small decisions have a big influence on your life because you make so many of them, all

day, every day. The small decisions are the ones that keep you focused and moving ahead. Sure, the big decisions, that you pay a lot of attention to, will set the direction for your life. However, the small decisions are what deliver and maintain that direction. Small decisions come so fast and so frequently that you can't possibly have time to think through each one. That's why the way to effectively take positive control of those small decisions is to develop positive habits. Instead of thinking through each small decision, program those decisions into your behavior. Instead of being constantly tempted to wander away from the path you've chosen, make it your second nature to keep yourself positively focused on what really matters. Get all the powerful small decisions working in your favor by making them into solid, repeating habits. Invest in creating positive habits in your life, and your investment will continue to pay valuable dividends each day. Every moment is a choice. Create powerful, positive habits for yourself and all those choices will lead you precisely where you wish to go.

Accepting disapproval

I

f you give in to the disapproval of others, you'll simply encourage them to disapprove even

more. If you fight against their disapproval, that will also cause their disapproval to grow stronger. Your most effective response is to gently accept the disapproval, then let it go and move forward. That strategy will dilute and dispense with the resistance you encounter faster than anything else. Stop needing the approval of others, and you'll receive more approval and support than ever. Live each moment from your own inspiration, not from your desire to look good in the eyes of others. You can be exceptionally kind, loving, giving and respectful without being a slave to the opinions of others. Accept that other people will disapprove of some things you do, and you'll free yourself to do truly magnificent things. Your great value does not derive from the approval of others. You are entirely worthy and able to give much to life, regardless of what anyone else may think. Graciously and enthusiastically accept that others will disapprove, no matter what you do. And delight in the freedom of doing whatever you know is right for you.

Feel the splendor
T
here is plenty of time, for there is now and you have it all available to you. There is nothing to regret, for the past is now finished.

Any anxiety you feel is only speculation about what has never happened yet. Let go of what is not even real, and give your grateful attention to the opportunity that is now. Elevate your wishes and plans about someday into action you take on this day. Your dreams come to life the moment you begin to move toward them. Fill this moment with effort and purpose, with wonder, kindness, joy and love. You are precisely as rich as you imagine and allow yourself to be, so choose to be extraordinarily rich at all times. Keep yourself grounded in what's truly important. Then you'll have the courage to move gracefully beyond what's familiar and create new value. Right now is when you're gloriously alive, aware and able to feel the incomparable splendor that is life. Remind yourself of all you have, and you'll transform it into even more.

Your inner artist

C

reativity is not something you must force. You always create when you truly wish to create.

There is the opportunity for artistry in every facet of life. Give your love to whatever you are doing, and your own special art will come to life. If you're just going through the motions, you're stealing life from yourself. Nothing has to be tedious, for everything is an opportunity to create new richness. Complaining about your lot in life is an insult to your own amazing and powerful abilities. Instead of complaining, put just a few of those abilities to purposeful use. All that you know, all you experience, all that you feel and love, will fuel your beautiful and unique creativity. Feel how good it feels to fully express your own perspective. Allow yourself to passionately desire what you sincerely desire. Then follow the promptings of your inner artist and create the special masterpiece you envision.

Thursday, January 27, 2011

You'll get through

Y

ou'll get through this day, and you'll have more strength, richness and wisdom as a result.

You'll get through this month, this year, this life, all while adding to the already-great value that is your existence. You have what it takes to find your way through, and indeed you will. Though it won't always be easy or comfortable or convenient, you will surely and steadily move forward. You can choose to let the fears hold you back for a while. Or you can choose to let those fears inform and prepare you, and then move on through them to where you are meant to be. You can come up with all sorts of creative excuses to avoid making progress. Eventually, though, you'll realize what you're missing and will decide to leave those excuses behind. Whatever comes along, you'll get through it. At some point you'll learn to stop fighting, to stop struggling, to stop complaining, and allow yourself to successfully handle whatever comes your way. The worries, the fears, the anxieties and moments of hesitation will all be proven wrong. Because one way or another, you will get through.

Friday, January 28, 2011

Each time you do

I

f you're looking to become more confident, look in the mirror.

The person who can give you real confidence, is you.

Others can teach you, encourage you, and express their own confidence in you. Yet if you wish to have confidence in yourself, you must earn it for yourself. The only way you can know your abilities is by putting them to work. Real confidence comes from your own experience of doing. Every challenging situation is an opportunity for you to strengthen your confidence. Within every difficulty is the very real potential for growth. The experience of making an effort creates confidence. The experience of making another effort, and another and another, until you get the job accomplished, creates even stronger confidence. Confidence comes when you know you can do it, and the only way to know that is to do it. Step forward, take action, and your confidence will grow each time you do.

Find peace

A

t the heart of who you are, there is peace. When you let go of all that is covering it up, you

find peace. Go ahead and feel those things that hide your peace from you. Appreciate the fact that you can feel them whenever you chose. Then, realize that just as you can choose to feel them, you can choose to let them go. Discover for yourself that you do indeed have the power to uncover the peace that lives in your heart. One by one, you can easily and naturally dispense with those feelings that separate you from the peace that is yours. With sincere thankfulness for what you feel, you can let go of each feeling. What you are left with is peace. What you are left with, is the powerful serenity of being beyond need, beyond fear, beyond frustration and anxiety. By connecting to the peace within, you are free to take life as it comes. And when you do, you'll find that it comes in great abundance.

Doubl e down
W
hen life hands you a disappointment, don't lower your expectations. Raise those expectations.

If you're having trouble reaching your goals, don't give up on those goals. Make them even more ambitious and even more meaningful. Yes, life can be filled with inconvenience, frustration, and disappointment. The people you deal with can be rude, incompetent, arrogant and downright abusive.

But you don't have to let any of it get to you. Just as easily as you can choose to be angry, you can choose to be positive, productive, purposeful and enthusiastic. When the negativity gets thick, respond with positive enthusiasm. For that is precisely when it can have the most powerful effect. When being positive is not working out, double down on your positivity. Base your response not on how life has been, but on how you would like it to be.
