Stagg Music Booster Meeting Minutes

April 27th, 2010

 Student account outflow $00.00
 Outstanding includes Neff awards bill for $2,871.51 which needs to be divided
among band, choir, and guard
 Music Booster has authorized $400.00 for Senior Party
 Game rentals $200.00 and 2- $100.0 gift cards (receipts needed to get reimbursed)
 On current balance sheet you will see 2 new items that include $300.00 petty cash
for craft show small expenses in which Karen and Patty have this money
 Crystal Page returned food and was given a Sam’s store credit and Stephen has
the credit.

Band: Mr. Mecozzi (not in attendance)
 April:
15th-18th Aida Musical, 19th Drum major tryouts, interviews &flute recital, 20th
section leader interviews, 21st section leader interviews & trumpet recital, 22nd
low brass recital, 27th clarinet & saxophone recital

 What is coming up: April 28th percussion recital (PAC) 7pm, May 3rd drumline
clinic( 5 to 7) , May 4th - 5th after school rehearsals for upcoming concert, May 6th
Drumline tryouts, May 10th after school rehearsals, May 11th Final Band
Concert(PAC) 7pm, May 12th-14th Band Final Exams ( In Class), May 14th
Patron of the Arts papers due, May 15th Baseball field dedication ceremony-
Ceremony starts at 9:45pm

Choir: Mr. Betz


 Aida was very successful
 Awards Banquet- will look at doing performances for next year
 A Chicago Symphony judge was present at the Voice Recital
 Mrs. Wysoki who is a member of the Lyric Opera has been working with the
students
 May 14th choirs visiting Palos South, Conrady, and Worth schools to perform
 Next year Palos South will be hosting an assembly that Choir, Color Guard and
Band will attend. The goal will be to have and assembly at all the local Jr. High
Schools
 D230 Choral Festival was a great time, a Clinician was hired to work with the
students

 May 10-13 will be tryouts
 Projecting 15 girls for the fall

Robert’s Rules addressed by Chris Betz: The general rule of debate includes-
 It was reinforced that a person must be recognized by the chair prior to speak
 A person may not speak a second time until all members wishing to speak have
spoken

Ways and Means: Position Remains Open


 Spring plant sale with Sid’s Nursery in progress, information in Band & Choir
rooms and posted on the website. Laura Bennett and Vicki Sistos running sale
 First Aid Summer Fund Raiser- Still need someone to come forward to run this
fundraiser

Planning:
Spring Craft Show- Not in attendance
Music Award Banquet- Margaret Kristufek
 Went well , Sabre Room staff was very courteous , 230 people attended , will add
Open Seating to the invitation next year

Jamboree- Elizabeth Norden not in attendance


 Looking into ad book distribution timing for the event and an ad book
coordinator
 Steven Makropoulos suggested – to move the Ad Book back to the Craft Show;
not the Jamboree and then it goes back to the neighborhood

Marching Band Report- Dalia Olsauskas

External Communications:

Assistance and Scholarship: Donna Husar and Anna Kibort( not in attendance)
 Winners included Kevin Spect and Tina Makropoulos

Unfinished Business:
 Spirit Wear will be researched with the help of Vicki Sistos
 Summer Benefit Concert –would like to have a “Welcome Week” per Chris Betz
 Taste of Palos – Choir looking into performing this year

New Business:
By-law changes (packets available with changes in color)
 Changes include: Red -Search
Orange-Treasurer
Green -Standing Committee
 By law changes will be voted on at the May 18th, 2010 meeting

Senior Party: May 22nd 2010 from 8pm to 1am


 Sign up sheet for volunteers available
 Music Booster hosting the Guitar Hero and Dance Dance Revolution Room ; the
set up will take place May 21st at 6pm start
 Chaperones needed for the evening of the Senior Party
 We will be giving away 2 -$100.00 Best Buy gift cards for HIGH SCORES
 Poster to be made to advertise room- Monica Wehmeier will look into this
 Would like to explore possible banner for future ( Sandy Kuypers D230 business
could possible make us a banner and Gordon Oliver of woodshop could possibly
make us something too)
