Plastic Pipes

BORUSAN PLASTIC PIPE & FITTING SYSTEMS

Borusan Plastic Pipes and fittings are made of Polypropylene Random Copolymer (PPRC) Type 3 haVing thermoplastic properties, and produced by copolymerisation of propylene with ethylene. The raw material has a high molecular weight. low crystal, high temperature stabilization and has higher resistance against temperature and pressure conditions than other similar materials. It is suitable for conveying cold and hot water as required by applicable standards and various. fluids defined in the TS 11448, ISO 7471.

BORUSAN PLASTIC PIPE AND FITTING SYSTEMS

The whole range is manufactured in accordance with Turkish Institute of Standards'regulations (TSE) and international standards.

Borusan Plastic Pipes are certified by the following:

DVGW Certificate bVGW Certificate TS 9937 (DIN 8078)

TS 11451 (DIN 4726-4728) TS 11755 (DIN 16962)

In addition to the TSE standards, Borusan Plastic Pipes have the ISO 9001 "Quality Assurance System Certiflcate".

BORUSAN PL.ASTIC PIPES;

• do not eccumulate lime, resist puncture.

• provides insulation against electricity, and are a real insulator. They are also chemically inactive, and resistan ag,ainst acidic or alkaline substances they may contact. They are made of a raw material named PPRC Type 3 which is a poly er '/ith high chemical resistance which fulfills the requirements specified in the TS 11448 standard.

• have internal and ex' ernal surfaces that are resistant to corrosion.

• have internal surfaces that are smooth, homogeneous and n nporous, and do not scale up with the accumula ion of foreign substances.

• do not allow moss an bacterialQroih.

· meet the instructions issued y the Turkish Ministry of Health, and cerflied by the Department of Hygiene to be suitable for potable water installations.

• have a higher linear nermalerpansion coefficient than that of the metals.

• have operation pressure of 20 bar at 20°C and 10 bar at 65 "C, ~ith a I inimum life of 100 years under suitable conditions.

• under normal conditions, can be used for temperatures up . 070-95 0c. They are not water absorbing,. and can be used in hot and highly moist environments.

· do not emit noise under high flow fates and pressures.

· db not need special insulation when' hey

come into contact with construction materials such as cement or lime.

· are light, so that they can be easily installed and transported.

· are economic in terms of labor and time.

• BORUSAN PLASTIC PIPES ARE RANGING FROM 20 mm to 75 mm are MANUF ACTURED WITH THE ASSURANCE AND QUALITY OF BORUSAN.

OPERATION REQUIREMENTS

Main values that determine the behavior of all plastic materials are stated below;

Mechanic effect = pressure

Heat shock == temperature

Resistance to pressure = time

The relation between the values stated above is shown on the graphic.

USAGE OF THE CURVES ON THE GRAPH After having determined the desired usage time of pipe (e.g.: 20 years) and the operation temperature (e.n: 80 oc), the intersection point of the vertical line that shows the usage time and the curve shows the permitted pressure value (a= sigma) for the temperature.

Example:

Usage time of pipe = 20 years

Operation temperature = 800C

Outer diameter of pipe (D) = 20 mm

Wall thickness of pipe (S) = 3.4 mm

Operation pressure (P) =?

Operation pressure is calculated with the formula stated below:

p = 20xSxa = 20x3.4x2.5 = 10.2 bar

O-S 20-3.4

This result shows the maximum resistance in a given time. In order to find the max. operation pressure, the value of the max. resistance should be divided by safety factor (f=l5).

Maximum operation pressure:

pe max = P max f

J.Q1_ = 6.8 bar 1.5

Packing & Marking

Packing

The strong packaging of Borusan or Mannesmann pipes and tubes provides dependable, longlasting service during shipment Pipes and tubes are usually packaged in three different styles:

• Hexagonal bundles,

• Jute or hessian cloth wrapping. · Wood under steel straps.

Marking

Each pipe is marked with the Borusan or Mannesmann trademark by using the following techniques as called for by ASTM, DIN, or any other required specification or as requested by the customer.

• On Pipe Surface; Die Stamp

Paint Stencil

• On Bundles; Metal Tags Plastic Labels

44_

Die stamping

Tubes are stamped only at one end.

stenciling

Each tube is stenci lied with the detai Is specified by the standards or as requi red by the customer, Depending on the specification, stencils can be placed uniformly along the surface or at regular intervals,

Labeling

Two metal tags attached to the metal straps at both ends of the bundle with identifying information such as customer name, order number, destination, production standard, size, weight length, and pieces per bundle.

Borusan and Mannesmann have indoor and outdoor storage areas and warehousing facilities for proper handling of pipes and tubes during storage and shipping.

sorusan's Gemlik plant which is located on the southeastern coast of the Sea of Marmara has a pier equipped with mobile cranes, forklifts and other machinery necessary for inter atienal shipment The pier, constructed of reinforced concrete. is totally 900 m length and me draft or jetty bulk cargoes varies between 45 and 8.5 m_

The care devoted to proper storage and shipment of production is part of the Borusao-Mannesmann commitment to customer satisfaction.
