I believe that we should never simply give up; I believe that we should never let the fear, the

pain, the hurt, and the sadness of life win. Those are very general terms, but as we grow and age in life we learn more and more about the meaning of those words. Some people more than others, but we all at some point in our lives experience these things. Who are we as people but primal beings, capable of amazing feats, yet susceptible to our own primordial nature triggered by the most basic of human emotions. We are strong yet fragile. We are brilliant yet blissfully ignorant. We are but human. It is for those very reasons that make us unique as beings. The extent of our ability to keep moving forward, even in the hardest of situations is remarkable and so often people underestimate this. That’s why we should never give up. To show everyone just how strong we really are. If we let those tough times win, and take from us what makes us so great, is a travesty. Each life lost to that blood thirsty demon, is another unneeded tragedy piling up in the world's library of lives. I know that I don't want to be that person standing on a rooftop about to jump, or that teenager sitting alone slitting my wrists, or the person hanging myself because I've cracked under the pressure. I don't want to be the one to give in and give up. I want to be able to say I made it through. It’s hard for even me to follow my own advice, and there have been a million and one times I have wanted to give myself up to the pressure and just let the world open up to swallow me. The fleeting thought of shedding this mortal coil has cropped up in my mind once upon a time, but I am still here, and I am still standing strong. Because what doesn’t kill you only makes you stronger. I can tell you first hand that anything worth having in life will never be easy to obtain. But as long as you don’t give up, you will almost always find yourself contented with the end results.
