Apartment #201 Madison, WI 53703 February 13, 2011 To Whom It May Concern: I am writing to express my interest in the Campbell Mithun Lucky 13 Internship for summer 2011. This is an exciting opportunity that would expand my knowledge of creative design and would allow me to explore this area as my career path. I believe my educational background, athletic achievement, committee leadership, and work experiences make me a strong candidate for this position. Through my studies at the University of Wisconsin-Madison I have had the chance to expand my artistic technique and define myself as an artist. At the beginning of my collegiate career I would not have labeled myself as an artist: business was my intended field of study. After taking a number of business related courses, I found my passion for art to be so strong that I wanted to make it the focus of my schooling. As an art major I have had time to hone my artistic abilities; study new techniques in drawing, painting, 3D, and graphic design; and gain experience with programs in the Adobe Creative Suite. Although I have developed my own unique style, I am comfortable functioning within defined guidelines and find it a rewarding challenge. My extracurricular experiences have provided opportunities to lead, communicate effectively with a variety of people, and refine my task management skills. A 9-month internship with Brandgarten Inc. gave me a new and exciting perspective on brand strategy and public presentation. This collaborative experience allowed me to develop brand strategies and create brand film to expand my creative repertoire. Brands like Aveeno, Splenda, Motrin, and Johnson & Johnson used these films to develop their brand strategies and kick-start a re-invented advertisement campaign. Through my varsity-swimming career and membership on the Memorial Union Design Committee I have gained valuable leadership experience and learned how to work efficiently in a team setting. As a swimmer, I found success in team and individual events. On the Design Committee, I lead multiple interest group meetings and used these findings to articulate a more practical and unique building design for the Memorial Union. I know that my experiences on the Design Committee, as an athlete, and with Brandgarten coupled with my artistic ability would make me an exceptional member of the Campbell Mithun Team. My dedication to improvement, unique outlook, and passion for practical stylish design would meld well with Campbell Mithun·s image. I admire Campbell Mithun·s unyielding commitment to their clients and would be pleased to work for a company with such a distinctive ´someone elseµ business plan. The Lucky 13 Internship sounds like an exciting experience, and I am confident I would make a positive impact as a member of the creative team. Thank you for your consideration. Sincerely,
