Academic Content Standard/Grade Level Indicator: Student-Friendly Learning Targets Instructional Tiering Laying a base • Prior knowledge and skills students must have in order to master the standard. • Assessment of these targets will be diagnostic, formative or summative; i.e., a pre-test. How might you assess? Formative:
Mastering the standard • This is the minimum level all students need to master. • Assessment of these targets will include nongraded formative assessments and graded summative assessments.
Going beyond: • This is for students who have already mastered the standard and are ready for enrichment. • Assessment can be summative or formative and may include written extended response. • You can “go beyond” with content, levels of Bloom’s or a combination of both.
Consider: • In what order would you teach these targets to students? How would you chunk them to make your lessons easier for you and the students? • How would you formatively and summatively assess mastery of these targets?
