User Interface Designer /Developer

Job Description A talented User Interface Designer /Developer who will build user interface design concepts, wire frame prototypes and final designs for web based applications. You will become key members of a team that is focused on deploying innovative solutions within the Public Sector that maximise ease-of-use for a wide range of end-users.

The UI Designer / Developer will work on projects to create and build prototypes user interfaces for usability testing, client review and demonstrations. They will marry design skills with an understanding of user journeys and user Interface design and be a key person in ensuring the usability, usefulness, and desirability of Bang’s solutions - from new business pitch to outstanding final implementation.


Work closely with project/account managers, user experience consultants, development teams and others to build storyboards, proof-of-concept mock-ups, demos and prototypes of proposed and planned web applications and features.

Collaborate in the definition of user interface design standards for web applications, to optimise ease-of-use and achieve an integrated and consistent look and feel.

Serve as a knowledge resource for the latest trends and technologies for web- and standards-based user interface development.


2 - 6 years of experience in web design / development, with specific expertise with web-based applications

Fluency with web standards and technologies, including: CSS, XHTML, JavaScript, JSP, jQuery and Ajax

Knowledge of usability and coding practices for accessibility


Agile. innovation and issue resolution  Great interpersonal skills and the ability to collaborate actively and proactively with others in the agency  Ability to communicate effectively in writing. verbally and as a presenter  Self-motivated and self-managed with a high degree of analytical ability and intellectual curiosity  Strong attention to detail. and a commitment to delivering highly-polished web-based prototypes under tight time constraints . RUP and Lean  Creative approach to problem solving. Flash. Strong web graphics production capability and experience with Photoshop. Visio and other mock-up tools  Experience with methodologies such as Iterative development.
