Purpose This note describes database parameter _PGA_MAX_SIZE. Scope This note is for Oracle internal use only as it describes an undocumented parame ter. It is provided for educational purposes and to help Oracle Support engineers in dealing with issues that may relate to this parameter. Init.ora Parameter "_PGA_MAX_SIZE" Reference Note _PGA_MAX_SIZE is a system parameter that determines the maximum size of the loca l (per process) PGA memory. The default value of this parameter is 200MB and the range of valid values is 10MB to 4TB-1. In 9iR1, 9iR2 and 10gR1, the value of the parameter does not change during the l ifetime of the instance. In 10gR2 and 11g, the MMON process may adjust the value of _PGA_MAX_SIZE, during the instance lifetime, if the automatic SGA memory management is in use.
