A back flip is an advanced trick. You must have a lot of power and experience (practice). This is not something you should try on your own. If you are ready to learn, these are the things you will need: someone to act as a spotter, a gymnastics mat and a hair tie. The first thing you will need to do is prepare the area. For this trick, you need a lot of space. In the space you chose, lay out your mat (you don't want to do this trick on a hard floor). Then, if you have long hair, put your hair in the pony tail. You don't want to have your hair in your face. If you have bangs, you might want to use water and bobby pins to keep your hair out of your face. Next, you will need to stretch and warm up. You need to stretch out every part of your body so you don't pull a muscle. Then you will stand on your toes with your hand straight in the air. Your body should be in a straight line. Once your body is in a straight line, you are ready for the next step. Finally, you sit back, as if you were sitting in a chair. This position will give you the power to jump. Then jump straight up in the air. Then tuck into a ball and rotate. You will land in a semisquat position. Then stand straight up. You've just done a back flip! You may not land this trick the first time you do it. It takes time. I still don't do it correctly every time. Don't let falling stop you from trying to do it again. If you fall, it should make you even more determined to do it again. After you finally do the back flip, you will be thrilled.
