I’m up here

I'm up here.
You're down there.
And nothing in that space between us
But a mile of air.
Where I sail:
Clouds pass.
Where you run:
Green grass.
Where I float:
Birds sing.
One thin thing there is
That hold us close together:
Kite string.

Today you are going to write Persona Poems!

In this poem Karla Kuskin decided to become a kite.
What nonliving thing would you like to be?

Here are some suggestions: a cloud, a crayon, a toy car
a soccer ball or even a shoe.

What would this thing say if it could talk?

What might the world be like from this things point of view?

What are its likes and dislikes?
