Spring literature
An excellent resource for
teaching about planting,
harvesting, and the life
lesson on diligence.
Perfect
for “Earth
Day” and
“Arbor
Day.” A
gentle
reminder to me that I
should never take trees
for granted!
Some of my students’
favorites. Lends itself well
to genre studies and
comparing/contrasting with
non-fiction texts about
flies, worms, and spiders.
This is a cute story which is
perfect for making
predictions, inference skills,
and some good wholesome
laughter.
I love to use this one in May
around “Cinco de Mayo.” It’s
a fun story that can
“spice” up your instruction.
Lucille Colandro’s books are
always great for rhyme
and repetition. I think I own
all of them in the series!
I just love Jan Brett’s
style of writing and
illustrations. This one can
be used in so many ways
to connect with Easter,
art, and writing.
I recently added this one to my
collection, and it’s beautiful! It
can really be used any time of
the year because it shows the
trees throughout each season.
It’s a wonderful text for
discussion about season
changes and weather.
