March Revenue Collections Just Short of Projections;


General Fund Year-to-Date Collections Still $233 Million Over Estimate
March 2011 General Fund revenue collections just
missed official estimates by $10.5 Million, or 0.3 percent. The
total year-to-date General Fund collections remain above
estimate by $232.7 Million, or 1.2 percent.

Most notable of March tax collections are the


Utilities Gross Receipts tax collection figures. The Utilities
Gross Receipts tax came in $154 Million, or 11.7 percent
below estimate. Consequently, the Total Corporations Taxes
category failed to meet official estimated collections. The two
other major tax categories, Sales and Personal Income, both EMPLOYMENT STATISTICS
exceeded expectations and helped significantly reduce the February 2011 Monthly Change
shortfall in March collections. Labor Force 6.362 Million +16,000

Corporation tax collections were $2.19 Billion which Unemployment Rate 8.0% -0.3
is $112 Million below estimate. Consumption tax collections
Total Employment 5.851 Million +30,000
totaled $737 Million which is $26.5 Million above estimate. All
other tax collections were $1 Billion which is $65 Million above 12-Month Growth
estimate. Non-tax Revenue collected was $41.7 Million which is Total Employment +54,000
$10 Million over estimate.
