Real World Abundance Workbook
As seems to be the case with many things, abundance principles can be relatively simple to understand and apply but in practice, enjoying the benefits can be less straightforward. Often, people experience frustration and confusion when their creations aren’t quickly forthcoming or seem to somehow turn out badly. No doubt, this sort of experience has helped give rise to the myriad cautionary tales about malevolent and deceitful djinns, genies, leprechauns, etc. that seem to appear in cultures from around the globe, but there is no need for panic. There are no mean-spirited, supernatural beings out to get you for their own amusement. The key to successfully benefiting from your creations is to be open to receiving them. Receiving can be hard. It requires that we be open to receiving and trust in the creation enough to let it come in its own way and time. In addition, it is important to let go of things that keep coming up and blocking the path. The things we want can’t come into our lives if we’re occupied with something else. You can’t receive anything new until you put down what you already have in your hands. However, the abundance literature is thin and underdeveloped in the area of releasing. Fortunately, wisdom from other traditions and disciplines can be used very effectively to fill this void.

This workbook and its companion audio CDs were developed with the express intention to introduce the reader to the rudiments of creating abundance and receiving all that you create in the real world, which often turns on the ability to let go of what you already have before you.

Some History As a young reporter. Page 13 of 112 . He was to then distill all of this down into a philosophy of success suitable for the public. To his credit. The catches were that it would probably take him 20 – 30 years to complete the task and that he wouldn’t be paid while he did it. He offered to give Hill letters of introduction to the richest and most successful men in the country (since this was in the first decades of the Twentieth Century they were all men) to help him divine what it was that made them successful. Hill was assigned the task of interviewing the famous industrialist Andrew Carnegie.Real World Abundance Workbook Napoleon Hill (Think and Grow Rich) First. As we release the old creations. the motivation for undertaking this work in the first place was to improve life and enjoy things that we don’t yet have in the real world. an important part of creating abundance is being open to receive and although abundance philosophies fall short in providing avenues for release. As mentioned in the discussion of the nature of karma. either of the creation itself or of ourselves for having it. the energy and space in our lives and consciousness that they take up is freed and returns to us. One of the quickest ways to achieve this release is to stop resisting the old creation and accept it into our experience. Choosing and Working With Goals
We each have a unique perspective on the world, with a unique set of talents, interests, and abilities. This unique set of talents, interests, and abilities lends itself to a personal mission in life that is also unique. In determining what that purpose is, it is helpful to recognize that we each have an inner compass that will guide us unerringly toward goals and pursuits that are in concert with our highest purpose. As amazing as it may sound, this inner compass is happiness. We are hard-wired for happiness. Things that move us closer into alignment with our higher purpose make us happy. Abraham call this the “Inner Guidance System.” Unfortunately, in modern society it is not always straightforward to know what that purpose is and knowing that alignment with that purpose brings happiness is only of marginal benefit because there are so many things that sound or feel good. In that case, a wise approach would be to choose the thing out of the field of possibilities that brings you the most joy and pursue that. If there are two or more that are equally joyful, then you are in the happy circumstance of being able to select any one, even at random. If you feel truly equally happy about them all then it won’t matter which one you choose. If it does, then you don’t really feel equally about them and you can choose accordingly.

Whichever occurs, devote yourself honestly and fully to achieving the selected goal. In time, either you will learn that you don’t really care about it, in which case you’ll be free to explore another, or you will find yourself enjoying it more and more as you get more and more proficient at it. Either way, you’ll have made significant progress toward pursuing an activity that resonates with your higher purpose. Stating Goals The more people you share your goals with, the more power your goals have. This works on many levels. As a practice, it works in concert with Mastermind principles. It is also aligned with acting in the Certain Way. On a more mundane level it is clear that in talking about goals that we find exciting, we feel the excitement keenly. When we share these goals with others, we feel the excitement even more keenly. It becomes electric and others can feel it, too. Once they feel that excitement, they’ll remember it more potently and bring it back to mind more readily. They will be much more likely to share the story and excitement they felt from you with others and refer friends and colleagues to you. Soon people begin to seek you out to help or share the excitement of your vision.
Keys To Effective Sharing
There are several keys to effectively and powerfully sharing your goals and vision with others. Many of them can be found in literature focused on effective public speaking, debate, and performance.

One key is clarity. Directness is critical. Strive to minimize or eliminate ambiguity. Don’t be afraid to take a stand for what you believe and what you envision. If you don’t take a stand for your dreams, who will? Seek to “paint a mental picture” of your goal. This might be better states as, “paint a heart picture of your goal.” Be specific but not too detailed. Don’t allow yourself to become distracted by details. Too many details lead to too many words which takes us directly into the head and out of the heart. Simplicity and economy help here. In fact, although it may seem counterintuitive, it is true that focusing too much on details can actually detract from the power of a vision. Abraham go so far as to say that when you feel the excitement about a creation fading and turning into pessimism or discouragement, you know that you’ve gone too far in trying to fill in details. It is indisputably true that we can not know everything about anything. The Heisenberg Uncertainty Principle in quantum physics is just one (albeit extremely precise) example of this fact. As we go about accumulating specifics about our vision or creation, we will inevitably get to a point where we don’t know further details and determining them will be extremely difficult or costly or both. If we press on after we reach this point, the net result will be that we only illuminate how much we don’t know. This naturally becomes a frustrating and discouraging experience.

the old friends or family might want to protect you from failure or might feel frightened or even threatened by what they see as a sudden change in your focus. As you play with this. especially if your goal is one that is different from things you have done before. In either case. they may try to discourage you from pursuing the vision and the support and excitement you were hoping for may be thwarted. For example. it can be extremely valuable to create an action plan around your goal. One benefit from developing and working with a good plan is that problem areas and unknowns present themselves readily. Sometimes it is a reflection of upbringing or training. As we’ve already seen. This will naturally lead to fixing the plan. Other times. Because of the manner in which we receive Page 56 of 112 . Another pitfall to excessive planning is in developing a false sense of security. As noted above. there is a tendency that many people have to try to know everything about something before they do or try anything. if planning becomes excessive. your plan becomes more and more clear until it crystallizes into reality. it is often true that executing on a poor or incomplete plan is better than deferring action to fix or refine that plan.Real World Abundance Workbook in your blind spot. A classic result from cognitive science is that it is notoriously difficult to know what it is that you don’t know.4 One common pitfall with planning is the temptation to get too detailed. Nevertheless. Regardless of the underlying cause. it is simply a reflection of prudence or at least that is how the person sees it. At some point it becomes more important to put your plan into action than it is to continue to refine it further. Knowing about such potential pitfalls allows you to adjust your plan and actions accordingly and remove them as obstacles. in action we see immediately what we need to do to remove obstacles. it can easily lead to never getting past the planning stage. Often this tendency is a reaction to fear – an attempt to feel safe by considering every possible contingency. In fact. there is a limit to how much detail we can know about anything. As you remove each obstacle.

unknown and the process of deriving it requires that we become comfortable enough with whatever is as yet unknown to allow us to be quiet and still enough to receive the knowledge. What comes next is only a more or less formal description of what we have received and experienced. Even scientific knowledge is created in this way. The papers and experimentation that most people mistakenly think of as science is nothing more than an extremely precise way of communicating the experience of the unknown. It should come as no surprise therefore (though it certainly surprised me when I first received it) that the tools we use to invite new creations into our lives also work with wisdom. Whenever we ask a question, the answer is forthcoming, just as with creations. Also, just as with creations, the challenge is often releasing the question (without expectations) and being truly and completely open to the answer.
Afformations were briefly mentioned above. Noah St. John created the term and technique. In brief, although “affirmation” is derived from a Latin root word meaning “to make firm” (firmare), “afformation” is derived from a root word (formare) that means “to create, shape, or form.” Making an affirmation (“I am rich.”), as we’ve seen, has problems – most notably internal arguing and backtalk (“No I’m not!” and “Liar!”). Instead, ask a question (“Why am I so rich?” or “How am I rich?”).
Real World Abundance Workbook
Rather than the backtalk and arguing that follow affirmations, there is a sense of immediate alignment and clarity pursuant to an afformation. The problem solving nature of the intellect is put to work in this case to answer the question. Questions about the veracity of the conditions implicit in the afformation never come up. Instead, the mind immediately tries to find and create reasons in answer to the question. The trick is to not try to act based on any answer or even to come up with answers to your questions. Allow your subconscious and creative self to formulate responses. The responses may not be in the form of direct answers to the questions, either. It will be true in many cases that the answers become manifest in your experience of the world. First, you will begin to see remembered experiences in new ways that support the condition implicit in your afformation question. Then, new experiences will present themselves as being further confirmation. Finally, new opportunities and creations will manifest that will verify your new condition.
The Sedona Method is a release technique that is taught by Hale Dwoskin. It focuses on identifying triggered reactions and releasing the affect associated with the triggered reaction in the moment.

Lists of considerations related to problems inherent in big picture concerns such as wealth, health, family, etc. can be used as laundry lists to identify reactions to release. The method first recognizes that an emotional reaction has been triggered. Then, you are asked if you are willing to let the reaction go several times in different ways. Could you let this go? Just could you? Would you? When? Notice that the questions are open and do not assume or presuppose any answer or tone. As always, it is key to be open and receptive to the answers. The method works with whatever answer comes back in response to the questions. In fact it is often observed that the honest answer to the first two questions might be “no” only to be followed by a “now” in answer to the third, leading to an immediate release. The Sedona Method is very gentle in that it releases only a thin layer at a time. Many repetitions of the basic format may be necessary to produce major shifts, but when they occur, they can be quite sudden and dramatic.
Narrative Consciousness is related to Witness Consciousness and is very useful in exploring and experiencing the full range of a triggered emotion without being drawn into it and becoming lost. As such, it can be

used very powerfully in tracing a triggered response back to its root. In Narrative Consciousness, you ask open-ended questions, as in the Sedona Method, but you are not restricted to following a script. Instead, questions such as, “What is this?”, “What does this mean?”, “What does this remind me of?”, and “Where does this come from?” are common. You maintain an open stance, receiving whatever answer comes through, but refrain from trying to answer the questions deliberately. Simply let the answers flow to you effortlessly. It is important to phrase your questions to be exploratory in nature, tone, and intent. Don’t presuppose anything about what might be going on or why. Simply give voice to the question, “What is going on?” in its various guises. As the answers come, articulate them, either aloud or in writing. Give full voice to the answers as you do to the questions. You are describing the experience to yourself and illuminating it as you do. Continue to explore and experience the triggered response this way until you feel that the whole experience has been fully articulated. Then let it go. Typical sensations have been described as being in a room that melts away, leaving you free in open space. If any part of the triggered response remains, simply repeat the process on the remaining parts. Eventually, the entire
