The American Diabetes Association – Greater New York is currently seeking volunteer English and bilingual Health Professionals and students to assist with the implementation of our program modules, through our local Speakers Bureau. As a member of our Speakers Bureau you will have the opportunity to provide workshops on a variety of topics related to diabetes. You will be provided with ADA education module guides and assigned to cover events based on your geographical and time preferences. Our workshop modules are educational community-based sessions that outline the importance of nutrition, regular physical activity, maintaining good healthy habits, and diabetes maintenance & prevention. We aim to provide strategies that empower, educate, and create sustained measurable differences in the prevalence of diabetes and its complications. The commitment requirement: − Participation in a volunteer training orientation and evaluation session − Facilitation of 3-5 workshops a year
