Golf Before All Else

By Elton Camp

Playing golf is the most important thing in life

It’s such great exercise and diminishes all strife
There’s not a thing that you’ll allow to interfere
Whether it’s cloudy, hot, snowing, rain or clear

Even if the wife’s sick and needs you around,

She has to wait until it’s the end of the round
Also the young daughter’s first piano recital
To interfere with a tee time isn’t enough vital

Your best friend’s funeral has been set for today?

It’ll have to wait until later so that you can play
To stop you, one thing has been good enough
And that was what just stalked out of the rough

“Uh, let’s head to the clubhouse, boys!”
