Alcohol Level of Wine or Beer..Anthony Spinelli.

Did you know or realize that beer and wine are the same in alcohol content. One 12 ounce can of beer that has an alcohol percentage of 5 percent is equal to one 5 ounce glass of wine that has an alcohol percentage of 12 percent alcohol. Believe me! This is fact! All Alcohol beverages are made with ethanol alcohol.Wine is a fermented drink that is made by the natural fermentation of grapes and the wild yeast that is on the grape-skin. The average wine is about 12 percent alcohol content.Beer is made by fermenting barley and hops to about 5 percent alcohol content. All other drinks are made from distilling mash into ethanol alcohol. After you distill the product a few times you will have an alcohol level of 95 percent alcohol or what we call 190 proof alcohol. This 190 proof alcohol is mixed with other products to make Liqueur or other alcohol products. If you are drinking at a party or wedding or at your special bar or pub, just remember that two drinks of any alcohol beverage will put you over the legal limit of blood alcohol for driving your automobile. If you decide to drink, let someone drive your car after the party or go with another person who will not be drinking. One 12 ounce can of beer contains 1-1/2 ounces equal to 80 proof or 40 percent alcohol. The same is true for one 5 ounce glass of 12 percent alcohol wine..If you drink and you decide to drive, you must wait at least two hours after drinking one drink to be in a condition that is not considered driving under the influence of alcohol.Remember for every drink you must wait two hours..So if you have 4 drinks you must wait 8 hours to be legal for driving. I hope that this information has been of some help for those who wish to drink and drive. The only thing that i will say in all honesty, is never drink and drive your automobile!Anthony Spinelli.
