The book Saving Zoë, by Alyson Noel, starts out with a fifteen year old
girl named Echo, who is still in denial over the death of her older sister, Zoë. Zoë was murdered over a year ago. Echo’s parents are at the point where they’re nothing but emotionless, and her friends are starting to move on. Echo was just about ready to move on as well, until she ran into Marc, Zoë’s former boyfriend. Marc handed to her a blue book, and right away Echo knew it was Zoë’s diary. At first Echo didn’t think anything would be in it that she didn’t already know, but when she decided she would take a look, she got caught up in it and the diary revealed huge secrets, which could lead the reader to find out who murdered Zoë.
recommend this book to girls who like compelling novels with much suspense. Guys wouldn’t enjoy this book as much because it doesn’t have any action involved. This book is definitely one that many girls would like, because it shows the relationship between the two sisters, and how it changes throughout the book. I haven’t read any books similar to this in anyway, which is why I loved it so much.
Likes and Dislikes
This inspiring book is filled with suspense and shows the relationship
between two sisters who are brought together more and more even though one sister is gone. Echo reads the diary and finds out more things about Zoë than she had ever known. She read all of Zoë’s thoughts and feelings on her friends, and social life. Echo almost feels like she is living Zoë’s life. I loved reading this book because once I picked it up, it was hard to put it back down. The plot keeps the reader on her toes wondering what’s going to happen next. I’ve read this book twice now, and I still could read it another time because it’s that good. It’s a fast book that never gets boring. It’s definitely one of my favorite books. One thing I disliked about this book is that it will lead the reader to think one thing, but at the conclusion, the reader discovers that she has been wrong.
