 Introduction

This course is a 4 year full time course (includes 6

month internship in some universities). Biomedical
engineering programs have a series of tracks that
focus on a particular area of study within the field of
study. Biomechanics: medical devices, modelling of
biological systems and mechanics of organisms. This
track interfaces with mechanical engineering and
often physiology.
Bio instrumentation/Bio electrical Systems: Focus
includes medical devices, modelling of biological
systems, in particular circuit analogies to the nervous
system, bio electric phenomena and signal
 Cell, Tissue and Bio molecular
Engineering

This track is often quite diverse, with focus

ranging from artificial tissues, modelling of
biological systems, drug delivery, genetic
engineering, biochemical engineering and
protein production. This track can interface
with chemical engineering, mechanical
engineering, molecular biology, physiology,
genetics, materials science and other fields.
Medical Optics: Focus on medical diagnostics
and medical optical technology. This track
• Eligibility: Class 10+2 or its equivalent (with mandatory
subjects Biology, Physics, Chemistry and
Mathematics).Minimum Cut Offs vary from university to
University and the board in which class 12 exam has been
.Entrance test as may be necessary from university to
university.
OR
Diploma students can get into 2nd year of degree or 1st year
depending on their grades in diploma.
