Ford continued to use his speed to his advantage Sunday when he singled, stole second and scored the game-winning run in the bottom of the 11th inning of the Giants’ 5-4 victory over the Oakland A’s. Ford pinch-hit for reliever Sergio Romo and hit a line drive to right field, which raised his batting average to .300. Ford’s other appearance last week came as a defensive replacement in an 8-5 triumph over the Los Angeles Dodgers on Wednesday.

Trout showed a lot of patience last week, drawing nine walks in seven games while also hitting .333 (7-for-21). Trout’s best showings came early in the week in back-to-back losses to Springfield on May 16 and 17. In the first of those games, he went 2-for-5 with two runs scored and a triple. In the second game, he went 2-for-3 with a run scored, a double and two walks. Trout raised his OPS by 19 points last week.

McConnell had one of his best stretches of the season from May 18-20. In three games, he went 5-for-11 (.455 average) with three runs scored, two RBIs, a triple and a double. His best performance came in the first contest when he went 2-for-3 with two runs scored and the three-bagger in a 10-4 triumph over Norfolk. Two days later, he roped an two-run double in a 5-4 win over Norfolk. *Through Sunday, May 22
