Two conductors, both with ties to Samford University, will conduct at two esteemed venues in New York. Saturday at 8 p.m. in Carnegie Hall's Stern Auditorium, Philip Copeland will direct 195 choristers from the Alabama Symphony Orchestra Chorus, two Samford choirs and the New England Symphonic Ensemble in Maurice Durufle's Requiem.

Milburn Price, Samford's dean emeritus of the School of Performing Arts, will conduct Brahms' Requiem in Avery Fisher Hall at Lincoln Center on June 19 at 2 p.m. Participants include about 130 singers from the choirs of Davison College, Bluefield College and five churches in Virginia and North Carolina and a professional orchestra.
