Dear Speaker Straus,

Dear Speaker Straus, Upon review of the school district runs for the budget deal crafted by

Upon review of the school district runs for the budget deal crafted by House and Senate leadership, it appears as if the $830 million from President Obama's Education Jobs Fund (Edujobs) grant is included in the analysis.

As you are aware, Edujobs funds have already been sent from the U.S. Department of Education through the Texas Education Agency and are on their way to local school districts.

These funds are not included in HB 1 and are not part of the school finance package being presented to legislators. Because we are preparing to consider legislation and a budget that negatively impacts our school districts by $4 billion, we request the Legislative Budget Board provide a revised analysis without the Edujobs funds to more accurately reflect the impact our local districts will feel upon passage of HB 1 and SB 1811.

It is imperative that members have the most accurate information available to them to make an informed decision. Thank you for your consideration of this request.

Sincerely,

Dear Speaker Straus, Upon review of the school district runs for the budget deal crafted by
