Come volunteer at your local Community Garden!
It doesn’t matter how much you know or don’t know about gardening…it’s about enjoying our neighbourhood, working together and getting to know one another. Join us on Wednesday, June 1 at 10:00 am, to plant the first seedlings. Be an integral part of this new community garden located at Vaughan Fire Hall #7-1 (835 Clark Avenue West). Volunteers will be provided with materials, tools and guidance. Just bring sunscreen and a positive attitude! To register, please call Lynne at 647-932-5033 or e-mail us at: email@example.com Participate in FREE workshops throughout the season that include: Composting 101, Container Gardening, Seed-Saving, Preserving the Harvest - drying, fermenting and freezing. ”Growing to Give” is a partnership project between Seeds For Change, the City of Vaughan’s Parks Operations & Forestry Department, Environmental Sustainability Office, Vaughan Fire & Rescue Service and the York Region Food Network to grow healthier neighbourhoods through community and school gardens.
