You can add new words as you go along even if she has not mastered the current words. Just make sure you keep track of where she is at on each word. Once you feel she has the first step understood then move on to the next steps as she is ready.
Supplies: blank strips, letter tiles, picture cues, fingers
---- Cue card
---- spelling strip
Show cue card of the word to be spelled. Have the word already spelled on the spelling strip. Have her read the word. Verbal/sign Using blank strip and the cue card have her spell the word on the spelling strip with decreasing prompts. Keep track of how many prompts being used. Have her finger spell the word with the spelling strip.
Missing letters- Fade a letter out for her to have to fill in continue to do this until she can spell the whole word.
Once she is able to spell the word with no letters being visible then move on to finger spelling the word with only the cue card.
