Imagine being out of school for the summer with no real plans in the heat, only having your creativity and imagination to rely on. In To Kill a Mockingbird by Harper Lee; three kids, Scout, Jem, and Dill use their imagination and creativity in Maycomb, Alabama to make the most of their summer. They use their imagination to try and understand things they have few facts about, bend the truth a little, and to have fun while getting into some trouble because fantasy is more appealing than reality, but reality is still reality. Scout talks about Boo Radley as if she knows him personally. She only uses what she knows when she tells Dill about Boo. “The more we told Dill about the Radleys, the more he wanted to know, the longer he would stand hugging the light-pole on the corner, the more he would wonder.”(Lee 15) Scout is explaining to Dill what only she knows and the rumors she hears, adding a little imagination into them. With this Dill becomes more interested in the Radleys and his mind is now filled with many questions of curiosity. Scout imagination is large and will progress through out the book. Dill has the biggest imagination so far. Dill lies in order to make his life seem more interesting than it already is. He even rode a train all by himself to Maycomb accusing himself that he helped with the engineering.”’ I-smell-death.’ he said”(48) pretended he

He feels like the way to be accepted by others is to tell them something your not. then Jem’s game he created with his imagination would have gotten him in trouble or maybe even killed. Jem is very careless most of the time in the book. He is supposed to be the oldest and act responsible.
