Workin’ 1/2 the garden’s in, waiting out the freeze til we get the rest tucked into the dirt

& goatshit carted over from the landlord’s. I’m hanging up sweaters used all winter long, washed clean, now drying on the line we put up just last week when the cold rain’s finally stopped. I’ve put the blankets in trunks ‘til next year. I can only hope summer’s cruel and mean, making those tomatoes fat and juicy. I’m tired. Yr fiddling with the fan belt wondering will it last until the First while I count quarters on Ma’s quilt & you just shake yr head at me, wondering where my optimism comes from. I pray, you man.
