Old Waterloo Equine Clinic (OWEC) provides the best diagnostic and medical services and the highest

level of care for our equine patients. We achieve this through: the use of modern technology; good communication with our clients; and a very knowledgeable, caring staff. Continuing education is a priority for OWECs veterinarians, ensuring that we remain abreast of the latest developments in the rapidly advancing field of equine medicine. OWECs veterinarians care for more than 6,000 patients, providing individualized care to each and every one. We take our responsibility for our clients horse care and our clients trust in us very seriously. Founded in 1981 by Dr. Helen Poland, OWEC is located in the heart of Fauquier Countys horse country. In 1993 a clinic with an examination room and a surgical facility were added to the practice. Dr. Tena Boyd joined the practice in 1996 and became a partner in 2000. In 2006 OWEC opened its new Equine Reproduction Center and celebrated 25 years of dedicated service to the equine community.

comprehensive medical care for the sport and pleasure horse; routine and corrective dentistry; diagnostic imaging; lameness examinations; acupuncture; reproductive services; and elective surgical procedures.

AMBULATORY SERVICES

Four fully-equipped vehicles provide care for your horses at your farm. Our ambulatory equipment includes x-ray, ultrasound, endoscope, thermography camera, and power dental tools. OWEC brings a broad scope of preventive care services and examinations to you. These include: vaccinations; wellness examinations; performance dentistry; geriatric work-ups; and lameness, purchase, neonatal, and breeding examinations. Our 24-hour emergency service ensures that we are there when you need us365 days a year.

CLINIC FACILITIES

OWECs clinic facilities enable us to offer an essential complement of services to our clients. An examination room is available for many standing procedures. Our surgical suite, equipped with modern surgical and anesthesia equipment, is available for elective surgical procedures. OWECs in-house laboratory and dark room for radiographic processing provide valuable, timely results. An outdoor riding ring, equipped with graystone footing and jumps, is available for use during purchase exams and lameness evaluations.

From Warrenton: Take Route 211 West. At the first traffic light, turn right onto Van Roijen Street. Go to the stop sign and turn left onto Waterloo Road. Go four miles and turn left onto Piney Mountain Road. Go two miles, cross over the bridge, and take the second right onto South Run Lane. OWEC is the second driveway on the right on South Run Lane. From Marshall: Take Route 17 South toward Warrenton. Immediately after crossing over I-66, turn right onto Route 691 which is Carters Run Road. At the end of Carters Run Road, turn left onto Wilson Road. Go two miles and turn right onto Piney Mountain Road. Go two miles, cross over the bridge, and take the second right onto South Run Lane. The second driveway on the right is OWEC.
