If you are interested in learning about how you can preserve this “must have” OLMC event, please call the rectory.

PLEASE REMEMBER....your parish during the summer months when many will be away for weekends or vacations. Our expenses don't take a vacation and we need your continued support. Thank you!

JULY 10, 2011
RECENT BAPTISMS The following children have been baptized at Our Lady of Mount Carmel since January: Cole Ledano Vitelli, child of Michael and Kelly Kaylie Amber Clark, child of Mark and Rachel Hunter Alezander Crissman, child of James and Jessica Joseph Kent Clark, child of Joseph and Mindy Mallory Ann Hammill, child of James and Yvonne Liam Wright, child of William and Rebecca Asher James Hatfield, child of Chad and Leah CHILD PROTECTION AND CREATING SAFE ENVIRONMENTS Parents should consider having internet accounts in their name with parents having the primary screen name, controlling passwords and using blocking and/or filtering devices. Children should not complete a profile for a service provider and children’s screen names should be nondescript so as not to identify that the user is a child. To see what the Diocese of Erie is doing to keep children and youth safe, check out http://www.eriercd.org/ protectyouth.htm. OPENING DOORS TO FAITH Disability and Deaf Ministries support growth and promote inclusion of individuals with disabilities into the mainstream of the church. The ministry provides activities to enhance spirituality. They include days or evenings of prayer and liturgy which take place all around the diocese in the fall and spring, and overnight/ weekend retreats that are planned each summer. A retreat for Caregivers is sponsored twice each year. Your contribution to the CSA make the work of this ministry possible. MAKE TIME FOR YOUR MARRIAGE Summer is filled with festivals and picnics, weddings, anniversaries and family reunions, but what about time for your marriage? Plan now to renew and re-energize your relationship at Worldwide Marriage Encounter Weekend, August 26 - 28 at Olmsted Manor, Route 6, SE of Warren, Pa. Phone 823-4600 for more information of email wwme.eriepa@gmail.com OUR LADY OF MERCY PARISH FESTIVAL …. ….is taking place today, Sunday, July 10 on the parish grounds on Bartlett and Dutton Roads in Harborcreek. A FAMILY PERSPECTIVE The stress and anxieties of family ties are like “thorns which choke off” any opportunity to reflect on God’s presence in our lives. Notice in today’s gospel Jesus “went out of the house” so He could connect with the people he loved. Grasp five minutes each day to appreciate the people you love.
