Introduce the student to the field of neurobiology as it relates to the development of the brain. B. Familiarize the student with current research in the area of brain development C. Enable the student to understand the role of technology in the findings of brain development D. Critically examine research and evidence in the field of neurobiology and brain development

E. Foster a multi-disciplinary approach to understanding human development F. Encourage and demonstrate practical application of brain development research to the field of early childhood development and psychology G. Familiarize the student with the concept of emotional intelligence and its relationship to brain development H. Foster an understanding of difference between psychiatric and psychological methodologies used in treating disorders as they relate to brain development

Cheating: Each student is expected to do his or her own work. Plagiarism, which is stealing the language, ideas or thoughts of another and representing it as your own original work, is also cheating. Any violation of academic honesty may result in dismissal from the course and the college. Participation: 10 points per discussion forum (See Discussion Rubric for details) Midterm: 75 points Final: 100 points Research Project: Students will be assigned to a current issue. Students will research the topic using at least one book and 2 research articles (from EBSCO). Students will create a PowerPoint on their topic that will be emailed to the professor and posted for class. See assignment sheet for details. 125 points
