President Asian Development Bank Mr. Haruhiko Kuroda is the President of the Asian Development Bank (ADB) and the Chairperson of ADB's Board of Directors. He was elected President by ADB's Board of Governors in November 2004 and was reelected in November 2006 for a new five-year term. Ms. Quon is Canadian-born, with over 20 years experience in international journalism and public relations. Prior to joining ADB, she worked as a news and business anchor on CNN This Morning, Asia Tonight, and BizAsia for Cable News Network (CNN), based at its Asian regional headquarters in Hong Kong. Ms. Quon is an award-winning journalist and held a number of senior editorial positions at the South China Morning Post, Hong Kong’s leading English-leading newspaper. These posts included: Editor, Sunday Morning Post (1993-95); Deputy Editor, South China Morning Post (1991-93); and Assistant and Political Editor (1988-91). Her public relations background includes providing strategic counsel on public and media affairs to a diverse clientele ranging from multinationals to government agencies at Ogilvy & Mather Public Relations Worldwide, based in Hong Kong. Ms. Quon holds a Bachelor of Journalism (Honors) from Carleton University in Ottawa, Canada.
Secretary General Global Wind Energy Council Steve Sawyer joined the Global Wind Energy Council as its first Secretary General in April 2007. The Global Wind Energy Council represents the major wind energy associations (China, India, Japan, Brazil, Australia, Canada, USA, Europe, Germany, Spain & Italy) as well as the major companies involved in the global wind industry. As of the end of 2009, cumulative global installed wind power capacity exceeded 158,000 MW, with over 38,000 MW installed in 2009, representing capital investment of more than 60 billion euros.
