SCALE DRAWING

SCALE DRAWING
Is a drawing of a figure that represent its actual object according to a particular scale It can be of the same size, smaller or bigger than the actual object Grid paper is usually used to sketch an object

SCALE DRAWING

The scale used is written in the form 1:n where n can be 1, 2, 3, 4, , n= 1, scale drawing has the same size as object n>1, scale drawing is smaller then the object n<1, sclae drawing is bigger then the object

In general,

Scale of drawing =

Length of a side of the drawing Length of corresponding side of the object

Scale of drawing = =

Size of the drawing Size of the object 1 n

=1:n

Example;

A A'

B'

C'

Scale =

Size of the drawing Size of the object

= A B : A B = 2 : 6 = 1 : 3
