Emerging Egypt
By the beginning of this year (2011) two Egypts emerged in my country. One Egypt is pulling at thethin strings, eager to spring out and live up to all the adjectives that the world has been showering recently upon us. The other Egypt is thestring. One Egypt says, give me a chance and I ll prove myself. The other Egypt says prove yourself first and maybe then you ll have a chance.

One Egypt lives in the optimism of our hearts. The other Egyptwaits in the doubt of our minds. One Egypt Wants. The Other Egypt Hopes. One Egypt Leads. The Other Egypt Follows.

But changes are on the rise. With each passing day more and more people from the other Egypt have been coming over . to this side. And quietly while the world is not looking, apulsing, dynamic new Egypt isevolving. An Egypt whose faith in success is far greater than its fear of failure. An Egypt that no longer boycotts foreign-made goods but compete with thecompanies that make them instead, and threaten their economy. HISTORY, they say, IS A BAD DRIVER. It rarely ever signals its intentions when it is taking a turn. This is that rarely ever moment. HISTORY IS TURNING A PAGE. For more than half a century ,our nation hasleaped, stumbled ,run , fallen ,rolled over ,got up ,dusted herself andsprinted, sometimes leaned on . But today as we begin again after 30 years as a true free nation, the ride has carried us to the edge of times greatestheight. And one Egypt a tiny little fading voice at the back of the head is looking down at the rift between hope and reality and hesitating. The other Egypt is looking up at the sky and saying, .IT S TIME TO FLY
