What is new in PeopleSoft PeopleTools 8.48 pertaining to Integration Broker? Q. I have upgraded to 8.

48 and in the process of applying fixes that contain Integration Broker objects, why do I need to apply the post-requisite? A. This is because Message Objects have changed with the introduction of PeopleTools 8.48. See PeopleTools 8.48 Object list below. The post-requisite will migrate information from the pre-8.48 structure into the new structure. Q. I have just upgraded to PeopleTools 8.48, do I need to do anything in order to get my message definitions converted? A. No, the upgrade will take care of the conversion. The only overhead at this point will be when applying application maintenance that contains Integration Broker changes. If you are on 8.48 and download a patch built pre-8.48, you will also see a post-requisite that must be applied in order to convert IB into this new format. Q. I am still on 8.47 and I see a post-requisite for fixes I have downloaded, do I need to do anything? A. No, the post-requisite (forward port) fix is only to be used if you are on 8.48 and you are applying a patch that was constructed on a prior version of PeopleTools. What the forward port does is converts objects from old definition to new (see PeopleTools 8.48 object list below) Q. If I have applied numerous different projects including IB objects, do I need to run the post-req an equal number of times, or can I simply run it one time at the end? A. The post-requisite is not project based, so anything left in the tables that needs to be converted to the 8.48 format will be included when the post-requisite is applied. Q. Can I re-run the post-requisite any time? A. Yes, you can rerun the post requisite change package. The post-requisite change package detects if there are objects in the database to be migrated. It also cleans up when its done. Q. I just applied a lot of different patches/bundles, how can I be sure that everything that needs to be converted is complete? A. The Post requisite Change package looks at the database for all objects that need to be migrated. Then it goes thru a cleanup phase to wipe off all the pre 8.48 objects. So once the change package is done, you know that it has completely converted the db. It also creates log that is referred to on one of the steps in the change package. Q. What are the new Message Objects in 8.48 called versus what they were called in 8.47? A. Below is a description of the related message objects between 8.47 and 8.48. PeopleTools 8.4x Objects Node Channel Message Node transactions and relationships Service Message and Subscription PeopleCode PeopleTools 8.48 Object Node Queue Message Service Operations, Service Operation Versions, and Routings Application classes and service operation handlers.

Q. What will my Channel name be after upgrading to 8.48? A. Channels have been converted to queues. The new queue name should be the same as the old channel name. As part of the upgrade/conversion, any related language data associated with the channel should also be brought over to the newly created queue definition. Q. What will happen to my Current transactions and Relationships ?
