Pro agility drill is a 10 yard length the player starts at the center five and sprints to the right (5 yards) then to the opposite (10 yards) and back across the middle (5 yards) for a total of 20 yards. Corner Drills are done with four cones in a five yard square. Do it to the left and then to the right. For the Agility you backpedal then shuffle facing the coach and then backpedal and then face the coach and shuffle again (should shuffle to the left and right by doing this).

Measures speed. Measures quickness. Measures agility & quickness. Measures agility using the backpedal and shuffle. Measures strength and agility (DW lineman qualities) Measures agility Measures strength and agility (DW lineman qualities) This takes the difference of the first and second event overall and gets a number. The lower the number the better the endurance of the player is.

Ability Score

This is the Raw Talent Score of the player. We add the totals of all the above to get a total time. A low time is a sign of a good athlete. The Ability Score is a major a factor when we consider draft picks but if we have two players with equal or nearly equal ability scores then we consider the Total Draft Score which includes the intangibles as well.

Coaches Recommendations Experience

This is based on Junior Coaches (if any) and Pre Draft Week assessement of player. First Year players normally struggle as they adjust to the contact and the speed of the game. Second year players usually improve by leaps and bounds. We place an emphasis on players that have come up through our system. An aggressive attitude is a must and it is often hard to find in young players but a good attitude is a must. Normally first year players are also meek as they are unsure of themselves and what is going on around them. This is a must we will take a dependable player that lacks in skill over a undependable player with a lot of skill. This is four above items add together and added/subtracted from the ability score to derive the Total Draft Score. We look at this after we look at the Ability Score.
