Japanese Government (Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technol ogy, MEXT) Scholarship Students with Embassy

Recommendation (Undergraduate) In order to be admitted as an undergraduate to Tokyo Tech as an Embassy-recommen ded Japanese Government (MEXT) Scholarship Students, applicants must first pass the MEXT Scholarship Student Examination administered by the Japanese embassy in the applicant' s home country. Please contact the Japanese embassy or consulate in your country for information about examination qualifications, schedule, and recruitment. Applicants selected as MEXT Scholarship Students usually study for the first yea r after their arrival in Japan at a preparatory school specified by the MEXT (To kyo University of Foreign Studies/Osaka University), undergoing an intensive Jap anese language course and other preparatory courses for university entrance. The preparatory education period is one year, with course content comprising mainly Japanese language studies as well as Japanese culture and society, Mathematics, English, Physics, Chemistry, and Biology. Students who have successfully comple ted their preparatory education sit entrance examinations administered by univer sities specified by the MEXT, and are admitted to the university concerned if th ey pass the entrance examination. Successful applicants shall be provided with the following scholarship allowance . Allowance Amount: 128,000 yen/month Travel Expenses: In accordance with MEXT regulations, the lowest air fare will be provided fo r a flight from the international airport closest to the international student' s home to Narita International Airport(or following the itinerary normally used by the university where the grantee is placed) Tuition Fees: Entrance Examination Fee, Admission Fee, and Tuition Fees shall be waived
