Invoke your Rabb by these supplications and you too will definitely say: "And never have I been in my supplication to You. especially in the moments of “acceptance of dua” so that nothing would be left from asking. In this edition. unhappy. June11. Farhat Hashmi 28 Jamada us Sani 1431. have been compiled under a different heading. the supplications from the Holy Quran are categorized under the headings of "Rabb" and "Rabbana". while others. For the convenience of the reader. 2010 2 . The English translation of the Quranic Supplications have been taken from "The Quran" revised & edited by Saheeh International (Riyadh) Hope this collection of supplications would be your companion at every event and place. brief ones have been placed before longer supplications and those with similar meanings are placed together." Begin Supplication with praise and glorification of Allah. Pay gratitude to Allah while acknowledging His blessings.” To supplicate to Allah is also a form of worship.” stated: Allah says: “And when My servants ask you about Me. Do not supplicate to anyone other than Allah. Seek forgiveness from Allah while acknowledging sins. Supplicate with certainity of acceptance.” The Etiquettes of Supplicating Supplicate with sincerity and concentration.The Merits and Importance of Supplication The purpose of man's creation is to worship Allah as He says: “And I created not the jinn and mankind except that they should worship Me. I respond to the supplication of the supplicant when he supplicates to Me. Sending Durud at the beginning and end of dua. Supplicate for yourself first and then for others. As the Prophet “Supplication is the Worship. Indeed I ask You. O the Eternal and Self Subsisting. there is no deity except You.'' 5 . Eternal Refuge. as I bear witness that there is no deity except You. The One.'' “Glory be to Allah and praise be to Him equivalent to the number of His creation and equivalent to what pleases His Being and equivalent to the weight of His Throne and equivalent to the ink of His Words.'' '’O Allah! I ask of You. O the most Majestic and Honourable. the Supreme. Glory be to Allah. He is One who neither begets nor is born. the most Gracious.'' “O Allah. I seek refuge in You from asking that of which I have no knowledge. and You are the best to accommodate [us]. 10 . and accept my supplication.And do not disgrace me on the Day they are [all] resurrected. My Lord. and [many] from my descendants.. My Lord. make me an establisher of prayer. My Lord. I seek refuge in You from the incitements of the devils. And grant me a reputation of honor among later generations. let me land at a blessed landing place. Our Lord. And unless You forgive me and have mercy upon me. 10.. My Lord. lest they be present with me. my Lord . My Lord.. 12. support me against the corrupting people. I will be among the losers. forgive me and my parents and the believers the Day the account is established. And I seek refuge in You.... 11.

enable me to be grateful for Your favor which You have bestowed upon me and upon my parents and to do righteousness of which You approve. My Lord. 16. and indeed. And admit me by Your mercy into [the ranks of] Your righteous servants. “The Lord of the East and the West. there is no deity except Him so take Him as Disposer of [your] affairs.'' 12 . indeed 18 . 'Believe in your Lord. Our Lord. its punishment is ever adhering. Our Lord. Our Lord. 15. it is evil as a settlement and residence. so forgive us our sins and remove from us our misdeeds and cause us to die with the righteous. Our Lord. and grant us what You promised us through Your messengers and do not disgrace us on the Day of Resurrection. Our Lord. indeed we have heard a caller calling to faith.14. 18. Our Lord. Our Lord.' and we have believed. forgive us and our brothers who preceded us in faith and put not in our hearts [any] resentment toward those who have believed. Indeed. You did not create this aimlessly. Indeed. and for the wrongdoers there are no helpers. exalted are You [above such a thing]. Our Lord. [saying]. 16.You have disgraced him. avert from us the punishment of Hell. Indeed. then protect us from the punishment of the Fire. You do not fail in [Your] promise. indeed You are Kind and Merciful. 17. whoever You admit to the Fire .

19. Our Lord, You have encompassed all things in mercy and knowledge, so forgive those who have repented and followed Your way and protect them from the punishment of Hellfire. Our Lord, and admit them to gardens of perpetual residence which You have promised them and whoever was righteous among their fathers, their spouses and their offspring. Indeed, it is You who is the Exalted in Might, the Wise.

20. Our Lord, do not impose blame upon us if we have forgotten or erred. Our Lord, and lay not upon us a burden like that which You laid upon those before us. Our Lord, and burden us not with that which we have no ability to bear. And pardon us; and forgive us; and have mercy upon us. You are our protector, so give us victory over the disbelieving people.

'O Our Lord, accept [this] from us. Indeed You are the All Hearing, the All Knowing.''

Miscellaneous Supplications
1. I

seek refuge in Allah from being among the ignorant.

2. I

only complain of my suffering and my grief to Allah .

3. Indeed,

adversity has touched me, and you are the most merciful of the merciful.

4. There

is no deity except You; exalted are You. Indeed, I have been of the wrongdoers. for me is Allah; there is no deity except Him. On Him I have relied, and He is the Lord of the Great Throne.

5. Sufficient

6. Creator of the heavens and earth, You are my protector in this world and in the Hereafter. Cause me to die a Muslim and join me with the righteous.

7. O Allah , Owner of Sovereignty, You give sovereignty to whom You will and You take sovereignty away from whom You will. You honor whom You will and You humble whom You will. In Your hand is [all] good. Indeed, You are over all things competent. You cause the night to enter the day, and You cause the day to enter the night; and You bring the living out of the dead, and You bring the dead out of the living. And You give provision to whom You will without account.

O Allah! Grant piety to my soul (nafs) and purify it. O Allah! The One who turns the hearts. O Allah! Indeed I ask You for guidance. 24 . You love to forgive so forgive me. 5.Masnun Supplications 1. 3. O Allah! Bestow on me my rectitude and save me from the evil of my soul (nafs). (O Allah!) O one who turns the hearts make my heart steadfast upon Your Deen. chastity and contentment. You are the Best of the ones to purify it. Allah consciousness. 7. O Allah! Take from me an easy reckoning. You are its Guardian and Patron. 4. 6. turn my heart towards Your obedience. 2. O Allah! Indeed You are the One Who forgives. 8. O Allah! Grant me the understanding of Deen.

12. O Allah! Suffice me with Your halal (lawful) and (save me) from Your haram (unlawful). pure provision and acceptable deeds. O Allah! benefit me through what You taught me and teach me what is beneficial for me and increase me in knowledge. so do not entrust me to myself for the twinkling of an eye and set all my affairs straight. O Allah! Make me content upon what ever (blessings) You have granted me and bless me in it and compensate me with goodness for all that is out of sight. 10. and enrich me with Your favours so that I am not dependent upon 15.O Allah! Expand Your provisions for me near old age and till the end of my life. 13 . O Allah! I hope for Your mercy. O Allah! Forgive me for my sin and make my home spacious and increase me in my provisions.9. 11. O Allah! I ask You for beneficial knowledge. 14. 26 . anyone except You. there is no deity except You.

Keep me alive (in a state of) humbleness and grant me death in (a state of) humbleness and resurrect me in the company of the humble ones. 21.16. those committed openly or secretly. O Allah! Forgive me all my sins. and from the rejoicing of enemies. 28 . 17. whether few or numerous. O Allah! There is no ease except which You have made easy and You ease out the difficulty. O Allah! I seek refuge in You from being overpowered by debt. 20. O Allah! I take refuge in You lest I should commit shirk with You knowingly and I seek Your forgiveness for what I commit unknowingly. from being overpowered by enemy. 19. O Allah! I seek refuge in You from a bad character and bad actions and bad desires.

28. 23. O Allah! I seek refuge in You from a decline in Your bounties. a sudden onset of Your punishment and (from) all Your wrath. 27. O Allah! I seek refuge in You from poverty. and from helplessness and laziness. to be overtaken by wretchedness and bad fate and rejoicing of enemies. O Allah! I seek refuge in You from severe trials and hardships. please us and be pleased with us.22. 26. and a change of state of well-being. and from cowardice and miserliness and from the overpowering of debt and domination of the people. O Allah! Grant a good end in all our matters and save us from humiliation of the world and the torment of the Hereafter. honour us and do not humiliate us. grant us and do not deprive us. deficiency and humiliation and I seek refuge in You that I wrong others or that I am wronged. O Allah! I seek refuge in You from worries and grief. 25. enable us to prevail (upon others) and do not let us be surpassed by others. 30 . from a soul that is not satiated and from a prayer that is not answered. O Allah! Increase for us and do not diminish. O Allah! I seek refuge in You from knowledge that is not beneficial and from a heart that does not fear. 24.

O Allah! Forgive my faults. O Allah! Indeed I ask You of all good which Your servant and Prophet asked for and I seek refuge in You from all evils that Your servant and Prophet sought refuge from. O Allah! I seek refuge in You from an evil day. O Allah! Indeed I ask You for all the goodness of the hastened one (this world) and of the delayed one (the Hereafter). and evil companion and from an evil neighbour at the place of staying. 32. knowingly. 31.29. O Allah! Purify my heart from hypocrisy and my actions from showing off (riya) and my tongue from lying and my eyes from treachery. Indeed You know the treachery of the eyes and what is hidden in the chests. from what I know and what I do not know. O Allah! I seek refuge in You from all the evil of the hastened one (this world) and of the delayed one (the Hereafter). an evil moment. an evil night. 30. my ignorance. 32 . mistakenly and those done intentionally and all these are in me. from what I know and what I do not know. 33. O Allah! Forgive my sins done in jest. exceeding in my matters and all that which You know better than me.

34 . O Allah! I seek refuge in Your pleasure rather than Your anger. I seek refuge in You from the Fire and from those words and actions that will draw me near to it. in Your forgiveness rather than Your retribution. whatever I exceeded in and whatever You know more than me. O Allah! Forgive for me whatever I have sent ahead and whatever I have delayed.34. whatever I have hidden and whatever I have disclosed. there is no deity except You. I do not find strength to praise You. I ask You that You make. 37. O Allah! I seek refuge in You from miserliness and I seek refuge in You from cowardice and I seek refuge in You that I am returned to a pathetic age and I seek refuge in You from the trials of the world and I seek refuge in You from the torment of the grave. 36. whatever You have decreed (for me). You are the Foremost and the Final. a mean of goodness for me. 35. You are as You have praised Yourself. I seek refuge in You from You. O Allah! I ask You of Paradise and those words and actions that will draw me near to it.

36 . 39. O Allah! Increase Your love for me over the love of all other things. 40.38. And when the eyes of the people of the world are cooled by their world. O Allah! put right for me my Deen which is a source of guarding my affairs and reform for me my world wherein is my livelihood. O Allah! Grant me Your love and the love of those whose love will help me draw nearer to You. O Allah! and what You have kept from me of that which I love then make it a means for me to be free for that which You love. exceed Your fear over the fear of all other things and exceed my eagerness to meet You over all the worldly desires. then make it a means to strengthen me for that which You love. reform for me my hereafter wherein is my return and make my life as a source of abundant goodness and make my death a source of peace from all evils. O Allah! I seek refuge in You from falling from above and to be buried beneath debris and drowning and burning and I seek refuge in You from being led astray by the satan at the time of death and I seek refuge in You from turning my back and fleeing from the battlefield and I seek refuge in You that I die from the bite (of a venomous animal). 41. O Allah! Whatever You have provided me of that which I love. place the coolness of my eyes in Your worship.

miserliness. I seek refuge in You from poverty. harshness. grant me death without undergoing that trial. I seek refuge in You from deafness. abstain from bad deeds and to love the deprived ones. O Allah! Lord of Gabriel. Indeed You guide whomever You will towards the straight path. disobedience. You will settle the matters which Your servants differ in. infidelity. bad reputation and pretence. 43. leucoderma and from all bad diseases. scantiness. laziness. Mickhael and Israf'eel. O Allah! I seek refuge in You from helplessness. I ask You of Your love and the love of those who love You and the love of the deeds which will draw me nearer to Your love. Guide me with Your consent to the Truth in what they differ. leprosy. 44.42. insanity. senility (weakness of old age). cowardice. Creator of the Heavens and the Earth. Knower of the unseen and the evident. 38 . O Allah! I ask You for being able to do good deeds. humiliation and deprivation. dumbness. heedlessness. hypocrisy. opposition. And that You forgive me and have mercy on me and whenever You intend putting a nation on trial.

the light of my chest. light to my right and light to my left. 47. light in my sight and light in my hearing. O Allah! I seek your protection from evil neighbour.45. he will conceal it but if he comes across any faults in my character he exposes them to all. light in my blood. the son of Your bondsman and bondswoman. and in his heart. light in my muscles. and from a spouse who will cause me to age before my time. 46. let there be light for me. Your command is constant and Your decree is based on justice for me. light in my hair. light in my tongue. he is probing into my affairs. O Allah! Indeed I am Your servant. light 40 . and from wealth which will become a means of torment for me. light before me and light behind me. O Allah! Make light in my heart. and a treacherous friend whose eyes are always watching me. light above me and light below me. my forehead is in Your Hand. I ask You with every name of Yours that You have named for Yourself or taught anyone of Your creation or revealed in Your Book or preferred to keep hidden with Yourself that You make Quran the delight of my heart. And if he sees any good in me. the means of removing my grief and sorrows. light in my flesh. and from children who will become a source of misery and grief for me.

O Allah! Lord of the Seven Heavens and the Great Throne. the Injeel and the Exalted Quran. plan in my favour and do not plan against me and guide me and make the guidance easy for me and help me against whoever oppresses me. O Allah! Bestow me with light. one who obeys You greatly. one who exhibits humbleness greatly.in my body. light in my soul and intensify the light for me. settle my debt for me and enrich me from poverty. 42 . keep firm my proof. one who fears You greatly. keep my tongue truthful. You are the First so there is nothing before You and You are the Last so there is nothing after You and You are the Manifest so there is nothing above You and You are the Intimate so there is nothing else other than You. Revealer of the Torah. wash away my sins and accept my supplications. O My Lord! Help me and do not help (others) against me. give me supremacy and do not let them overpower me. 48. one who remembers You greatly. O my Lord! Accept my repentance. guide my heart and remove grudges from my heart. our Lord and the Lord of all the things. 49. O my Lord! Make me one most grateful to You. one who sighs greatly and turns towards You.

51 43 ..50 .

I ask of You for a truthful speech in the state of contentment and in fury and I ask You for moderation in wealth and in poverty and never-ending favours. O Allah! Indeed I ask You of Your fear in the hidden and evident. I ask You for unceasing coolness of the eyes. O Allah! By Your knowledge of the unseen and by Your power over Your creation. keep me alive as long as You know that being alive is best for me and grant me death when You know that death is best for me. I ask You for contentment on Your decree and the pleasure of life after death and I ask You for the delight of looking at Your Countenance and eagerness of meeting You without undergoing any harmful difficulty or a trail that leads astray. O Allah! Adorn us with the beauty of faith and make us a guide of the righteous people. 44 .50.

I ask You for the highest levels of Paradise. the best life and the best death and to keep me steadfast. in my life and my death and in my deeds. You purify too my heart and safeguard my private parts. the best deeds. accept my prayers and forgive my mistakes. in my conduct and my family. 'Aameen' O Allah! I ask You for goodness of what You have given. O Allah! Indeed I ask You for the onset of goodness and its completion (in goodnesses). I ask You for the highest levels of Paradise. of what is hidden and what is evident and I ask You for the highest levels of Paradise. 'Aameen'. its apparent and its hidden.51. in my hearing and my sight and in my soul and my creation. O Allah! Indeed I ask You that I make the best appeal and the best supplication. 'Aameen' O Allah! Indeed I ask You to (put) blessing in my self (nafs) . its foremost and its last. 46 . for the best salvation. and to make heavy my scale (of good deeds) and establish my faith and elevate my ranks. O Allah! I ask You to elevate my remembrance and unload my burdens and reform my affairs. I ask You for the highest levels of Paradise. the best reward. and put goodness in whatever I will do and in all the deeds that I will do. illuminate my heart and forgive my sins. so accept my good deeds and I ask You for the highest levels of Paradise. 'Aameen'.

help us against our enemies and do not place any difficulties in our Deen nor make the world the greatest of our sorrows nor a (limited) source of our knowledge and do not impose upon us one who has no mercy for us. save us from all kinds of obscenity. 48 . our sight and our bodily strengths. our sight. Make us the ones most grateful for Your bounties so we may compete with one another in Praising You for these (bounties) and complete these (bounties) for us. reform our matters within us. guide us to the path of peace. Indeed You are the One who greatly accepts repentance. make each one of them our heir. and such conviction which will ease upon us the afflictions of the world. our hearts. save us from the darkness towards the light. O Allah! As long as You keep us alive. O Allah! Put affection amongst our hearts. bless our hearing. O Allah! We seek refuge in You from turning away (from Your obedience) or from being put to trial. O Allah! Distribute amongst us such awe and fear of Yours that will be a means of intervening between us and Your disobedience.52. turn in mercy towards us. 53. our spouses and our children. most Merciful. the apparent as well as the hidden. benefit us by means of our hearing. avenge for us those who wronged us. and grant us such obedience of Yours that will enable us to reach Your Paradise.
