We can see two frequency components in a FFT of CPFSK signal with frequency sepration of 8 M=2 We observe the spectrum for M=4

As M increases the performance of FSK increase Lesser SNR is required to achieve the same performance in AWGN channel As M increase it will give better performance than linear modulation schemes However this comes at increased complexity at the receiver Since non coherent modulation scheme can be implemented,we can achieve better performances as M increases
