FALL QUARTER
Accounting Industry Night Wednesday, September 21, 5pm – 7pm DePaul Center, 11th Floor, North Café, Loop Campus Meet and network with professionals in a variety of accounting roles across multiple industries. Learn how they entered the field and created their career success. Inside Careers in Human & Social Services Tuesday, September 27, 4pm – 6pm Student Center, Room 120, Lincoln Park Campus Hear from professionals in advising, counseling, human services and social work. Discuss the challenges, rewards, and preparation necessary for working in these fields. Making Connections: Careers in Communication & Writing Wednesday, October 19, 5pm – 7pm Student Center, Room 120, Lincoln Park Campus Connect with successful communication professionals and writers who will share insights on the industry and their work experience. Panelists from several experience levels will provide guidance to those who wish to pursue a career in journalism, creative/technical writing, public relations, organizational communication and/or media studies. Teacher’s Forum Saturday, October 29, 10am – 1pm Student Center, Room 120, Lincoln Park Campus This forum is open to DePaul College of Education students who will complete or have completed their student teaching experience, those starting their first year of teaching and recent COE alumni. Hear a keynote speaker, participate in roundtable discussions, practice interviewing and receive resume/e-portfolio critique. Career Strategies for International Students Tuesday, November 8, 2pm – 4pm DePaul Center, 8th Floor, Room 8005, Loop Campus This event will provide international students with an opportunity to learn the essentials of networking, identifying career opportunities and navigating the offer process. The basics of the H1B hiring processes will also be discussed from a legal perspective. Exploring Healthcare & Scientific Research Careers Tuesday, February 21, 4pm – 6pm Student Center, Room 120, Lincoln Park Campus Learn about career opportunities in medicine, nursing, the natural sciences and scientific research. Meet professionals working in labs, hospitals, corporations and more. Administrators and current students will talk about the selection and application process for post-graduate professional health programs. Career Transitioners Forum Saturday, February 25, 12pm – 4pm O’Hare Campus This forum is designed for individuals in the midst of a career transition or contemplating a career change. A panel of career professionals will discuss the process of transitioning and changing careers and the strategies necessary to help you be effective and successful (Part of Career Week).

SPRING QUARTER
Futures in Finance Wednesday, April 4, 5pm – 7pm DePaul Center, 11th Floor, North Café, Loop Campus Meet and network with finance professionals who work in a variety of industries. Learn how you can enter and advance in these fields. Futures in Green Careers & Sustainability Wednesday, April 25, 5pm – 7pm Student Center, Room 120, Lincoln Park Campus This event will focus on how environmental, economic and social sustainability issues are influencing the world of work. Learn about opportunities across a variety of industries in corporate social responsibility, urban planning, alternative energy, sustainability, conservation and development. Discover how to break into the field, where the jobs are, and what skills are needed to succeed. Careers in HR & Business Management Wednesday, May 2, 5pm – 7pm DePaul Center, 11th Floor, DePaul Club, Loop Campus Mix and mingle with professionals in HR (recruiting, compensation and benefits and training), independent consulting, operations management, organizational development, leadership development, sports management and entrepreneurship. Learn strategies for successful entry and advancement in these fields. Insider Tips for Career Transitioners Wednesday, May 9, 5pm – 7pm DePaul Center, 11th Floor, North Café, Loop Campus Learn effective job search techniques from a panel of recruiters, HR professionals and successful career transitioners. Gain insight on strategies to network, self-market and secure an interview. Career Conversations: Nonprofit, Government & Law Wednesday, May 23, 4pm – 6pm Student Center, Room 120, Lincoln Park Campus Network one-on-one with non-profit, government and law professionals following a brief panel. Panelists will describe their organizations, the types of professional positions they hold, and what characteristics are typically sought in candidates for these positions.

WINTER QUARTER
Careers in IT & Digital Media Friday, January 13, 4pm – 6pm Loop Campus Meet and network with successful IT & Digital Media professionals. Learn about effective job search strategies, career paths in various IT & Digital Media industries. Get tips on how to stand out from the competition and hot skills and qualifications in demand. Marketing & Sales Career Conversations January 2012, Date & Time TBD DePaul Center, 11th Floor, North Café, Loop Campus Network with professionals in marketing, communications, market research, event planning, sales and account management. Learn about and discuss strategies for successful entry and advancement in these fields. Inside Careers in Hospitality and Tourism Wednesday, February 8, 2012, 5pm – 7pm DePaul Center, 11th Floor, DePaul Club, Loop Campus Mix and mingle with professionals in private club management, events, lodging, non-profit hospitality leadership, food and beverage, and sports management/sales.
