Meryl Dorey will be presenting several seminars in the nextfew months.

We hope that you will spread the word about these events to friends and family in these areas and, if you're nearby, that you will come along to hear the latest information on the subject of vaccination. Ifwe are fuUy informed about this issue, we help by passing the information on to others.

There will be two more seminars in Perth in the week after the Expo finishes. Details will be posted to om web!Site (www.avn.org.au), blog (hltp:/lavn.org.au/nocompulsoryvaccinationJ) ana Facebook pages (http://www. facebook.com/pages/Australian-Vaccinafion-Network/55142201924?v=wall&ref=mf) as we have them. There will also be a seminar in the Sunbury area South of Perth and another in Geraldton which is to the North. If you would be interested in helping us promote these events by giving out flyers which we are happy to provide, please give our office a ring on 02 66871699 or email meryl@avn.org.au. If you are available to help out either at the door of any of these events or on the book stand, please also let us know.

as resistant to change as the next person. Give me the expected outcome, the known progression of events - even if they are not that positive - and I'llbe in my comfort zone. When things start to shift however, when what normally happens suddenly becomes the opposite of what actually occurs, it can take a bit of getting used to. That's the situation we seem to be in right now. Not just in regards to the vaccination issue, but in just about every aspect of life. Things are changing. Some of those changes have been less than positive. Floods on the East Coast of Australia that have seen lives lost, homes destroyed and the bread-basket of our nation under water leading to huge increases in food prices and uncertainty about our food security. Earthquakes in Japan that have killed tens of thousands, left hundreds of thousands homeless and started a nuclear catastrophe that is still unfolding months later. Even the United States, formerly THE superpower amongst superpowers, is now on the brink of economic collapse with high unemployment, a multi-trillion dollar deficit and shocking weather patterns that are bringing floods and deadly tornadoes to its heartland.

Isthe world fighting back?
Many years ago, I heard Dr Mark Donohoe spe,ak about health. He compared the health of the human race with the health of the planet and said that they are inter-related. He said that as our use of the world tips over into the realm of abuse as it's been doing since the beginning of the industrial revolution, the planet will start to fight back in much the same way as our bodies fight back against invaders. As far as the Earth is concerned, we are a virus and its'immune system' will do what it needs to do to majntain homeostasis. Do I believe that there is a consciousness in the planet that will fight to keep itself clean and healthy? No, not really. But I do think that we have triggered something - whether it be the forces of nature or just the fact that we have reached a tipping point - environmentally, economically and healthwise - that has led to inevitable change which will bring with it a mixture of both pain and pleasure.

Health changes
In the area of health, which is the one I am most in touch with, Ican tell you that the changes are startling. I have been running the AVNfor over 17 years now and in all that time, I have never seen anywhere near the interest in this issue that I've seen over the last 2 years. And for the last 12 months, I can honestly say that calls from people who have never questioned vaccination but are just starting to seek out information outnumber those from peoDie who have already made up their minds about this issue by to one. We are no longer preaching to the choir-

the choir has heard our singing and wants to learn the song. People are looking at their children and asking why they are so unhealthy. They want to know why their kids have asthma, eczema, diabetes, autism, ADD, ADHD and other conditions that may be associated with vaccines. They are looking back in their family histories and see nothing but healthy forebears and then, compare their children to their parents' and grandparents' generations and discover that none of their ancestors had these problems. They are asking their doctors if those shots, those antibiotics, those puffers, those tonsillectomies, those medical procedures are really necessary? They are researching and searching and using their innate intelligence to work out what it is that has affected their children and for many of them, these investigations are all leading to two answers - Western medicine and environmental toxins.

A very recently-published study showed that for every 1% increase in the rate of vaccination, an additional 680 children will be diagnosed as autistic,' A recent study in Korea indicates that autism has increased from 1 child in 10,000 only a bit over 20 years ago to 1 child in 38 today - a disaster that could see our health system bankrupt and our social structure destroyed as children disabled by this condition grow up to rely on parents and family members who will be unable to go out to work because they have to stay home to take care of their children into and throughout adulthood. And autism is certainly not the only epidemic to have emerged as being strongly associated with our overloaded and poorly-investigated vaccination schedule. Just about every autoimmune condition which used to be very rare in children and adults but which is now achieving the status of a health emergency can be laid at the door of vaccinations, toxic medication and environmental toxicity. Here in Australia, our information on chronic conditions in children is now dated but showed that 40% of our children had been diagnosed and were being treated for at least one of these chronic disorders as of the 2006 census. Our next census, to be held in August this year will no doubt show that figure coming closer to what we are seeing in the United States. And all the government and the medical community seem to be able to do is to harp, over and over again, about how we need to be giving our children more vaccines, we need to take more ourselves and we need to stop trying to research this issue ourselves but 'leave it to the experts' and just listen to our doctors. But doctors seem to get it wrong more often then they get it right. For every person saved by a 'miracle treatment; there seem to be hundreds if not thousands of people dying because of poorly-researched, toxic medications. Avandia, Avastin, Vioxx, Thalidomide ... the list goes on and on. Medicine is the number one killer in most developed

countries and instead of governments taking a step back and asking themselves whether it really is such a good idea to fund that new drug, that new vaccine, that new surgerythey instead just cling to the bandwagon and continue to resist any change or questioning of the current allopathic policy. In fact, the European Union has taken the unprecedented and potentially disastrous step of restricting banning or restricting access to most herbal remedies" and here in Australia, the government looks set to follow suit, possibly throwing homeopathic products into the mix of treatments which people will no longer be able to use or buy.

We have not spent a single cent doing a study comparing the overall health of a completely unvaccinated cohort with that of a vaccinated cohort. No, we are-simply told that such a study would be unethical despite the fact that Australia is uniquely able to do such testing via the use of our Australian Childhood Immunisation Register (ACIR6)- a national database linked with the Medicare database which could easily and cheaply be used to determine how much of our health budget is being spent on the vaccinated compared with the unvaccinated. Not only that - it could be used to determine what illnesses each group was being treated for since Medicare codes illnesses and treatments in a way that would make retrieval of this information a pretty simple matter. Want to know if the vaccinated are more prone to asthma, eczema, diabetes, cancer, autism and other behavioural problems? That information is all there for the searching, But the government seems to have no intention offinding this out. Perhaps because, were the connection between vaccines and these health issues to become evident from the government's own data, inconvenient questions might be asked and even more inconvenient legal actions might ensue, No, we haven't devoted any of our tax dollars to a long-term study to determine whether vaccines are implicated in any health concerns at all. Indeed, our government seems bound and determined to spend a lot of money - OUR money - trying to shut up any debate on this issue, And the AVN is planned to be the first victim of this policy of silence. But we won't be easy meat for that mill. And if we do go down, it will not h-aye been without the best fight we couldpossibly make,

Australia's health budget sets aside $400 million a year for vaccine implementation which includes the purchase of vaccines, the extra bribes to 'encourage' doctors to vaccinate their patients (under the General Practice Immunisation Incentive or GPW), the advertisinq of vaccination in the mainstream media and all the other assorted costs associated with the business of vaccination. Our Foreign Minister, Kevin Rudd, recently announced a'donatlon' of $200 million to the Global Alliance for Vaccines and Immunisation (GAW) to pay for vaccines in developing countries. One would have thought that the over $4 billion which was pledged to this cause would have saved many more lives were it simply providing for food, shelter, sanitation and - most importantly - education. But be that as it may, we have spent $600 million this year in Australia to push vaccines. Such a huge amount of money - and a good percentage of our total health spending, yet we have spent no money at all - not one single cent - on testing of drugs or vaccines. We have not provided any funding to the TGA to enable them to test the treatments they license for use by Australians. Nor have we funded the TGA to investigate the reactions that can and do occur after medical treatments have been administered (as demonstrated so clearly by last year's childhood influenza vaccine debacle in Western Australia and the potential loss of an international license by CSL,the drug company involved). No, the TGA gets all of their funding from the drug companies whose products they are supposed to oversee. And when reactions are reported, they simply pass those reaction details on to the company or companies responsible for the drugs and ask them to look into it - no further investigation required. If this were not such a serious and potentially deadly issue, you could consider it the script for a comedy. Because surely nobody would be dumb enough to allow a regulator to be totally beholden upon those they are supposed to regulate. But here in Australia and also in the US and UK, that is exactly the situation. And the declining health status of Australians today (this generation of children is slated to be the first to have a shorter lifespan then their parents) is the predictable outcome of these policies.

NSW Supreme Court -July 28, 2011

of our members, we have managed

In fact, with the support

to gather together a legal team and the AVN is now challenging the determination made by the NSW Health Care Complaints Commission (HCCC) to investigate and make findings against the AVN in 2010. The AVN challenge is set down for hearing in the NSW Supreme Court at the end of July 2011. Following a complaint made by a member of the public, the HCCC conducted an investigation into information published by the AVN on our website and determined that the information was deceptive and misleading and dangerous. The HCCC issued a public warning against the AVN based on this finding, The AVN is objecting to the conduct of the investigation and the finding made by the HCCC and challenging in the Supreme Court the jurisdiction of the HCCC to deal with the AVN in this manner. I am not able to say much more about the court case with the hearing pending, but will definitely keep you informed of the progress of this issue and will let you know as soon as the Court has made its decision. I am very much aware of the fact that many of you have devoted an awful lot of money to helping us take this case to court and we are doing everything within our power to ensure that the outcome will be positive.

Better late than never?
I couldn't possibly send out this magazine without mentioning the fact that it is very, very late. This last few months have been very difficult - emotionally, financially and time-wise. I have had to take the regrettable step of letting our entire office staff (2 part

time helpers who have been with the AVN for 6 and 3 years and our advertising salesperson) go which meant doing 3 extra jobs myself in addition to trying to run my own business. It hasn't been easy but as time has gone on, I have been getting help in introducing systems to streamline our procedures which will hopefully mean that the AVN will be more efficient and less time-intensive. The amazing thing is that I have not had one single solitary complaint from any AVN member. There were two people who subscribed via an online subscription site who asked for a refund which was gladly and promptly given - but not one of our members who know what the organisation is about has been anything but 100% supportive. In fact, you have all been incredible and I would like to thank you from the bottom of my heart for your kindness, support, commiseration through this very trying time. patience and your

It's all uphill from here
I am seeing the light at the end of the tunnelnot just with the release of this long-overdue magazine (and future issues of Living Wisdom will be coming out at their regular 2-monthly intervals though the size of the magazine will be greatly reduced to save both time and costs), but with the increasing awareness within the community - both here in Australia and overseas - that vaccination may not be the benign, health-giving treatment we've been led to believe it is and that parents need to be making informed choices about whether or not to vaccinate which involves taking the time to research and make their own decisions - not just follow orders. Until then, please stay well and stay in touch. Know that you are all truly appreciated and always will be by myself and the AVN Committee.
